We seem to love to buy as much stuff as possible these days, imposing ourselves apon one another.

The rise to power of men who rule only for more money and domination, rather than for the good of mankind.

Are we realy happy with all this stuff? will we continue to keep buying more and more stuff? or do you think some day we will value wisdom and spiritual enlightenment over a bigger TV or faster computer?

How would I "Express in terms of a single angle (x)" for cos(3x) and sin(4x)?

So far for cos(3x), I have:

cos(3x) = cos(2x + x)
= cos 2x cos x - sin 2x sin x
= (2 cos ^2 x - 1)cos x - 2sin^x cos x
...and then I'm lost

As for sin(4x), I have down...
sin(4x) = sin (2x + 2x)
= sin 2x cos 2x + cos2x sin 2x
= 2 sin 2x cos 2x
= 2 (2 sinx cosx) (cos^2 x - sin^2 x)
...and that's all I have for that.

There's several formulas for cos (2x) and sin (2x), but I have no idea which to use. Any help would be great.

Thanks.

I moved almost a year ago and things have not panned out like I thought they would. I have had to start all over again and I did not expect these trials to happen my questions are How can I have a godly attitude about the trials I am going through?
How can I learn to instill the principle in my life that God does not owe me anything just because I serve Him and do my best to do His will? I had gotten some work oriented teadhing and legalistic and prosperity teachings that were wrong doctrine.
How can I keep the faith when I feel like giving up? Thank you for your answers and God bless you.

I'll start off by saying that I am not trying to make light of what those people who were enslaved went through, and I recognize that it was a very bad thing that occurred.

The intent of this question is to ask why it is that presentday African-Americans feel so strongly towards the enslavement of their ancestors. That is something that I can not understand. I could understand being angered by being enslaved oneself or having a close family member or friend enslaved, but ones ancestors are none of these things. In being angry and cursing those who did it, they are failing to recognize that had their ancestors not been enslaved, they probably never would have been born, and their ancestors and their present day descendants would probably still be living in Africa.

Personally, I can't say that I would care if my ancestors had had to endure some hardships so that I could have a better life in a better country (though I don't even like my living relatives much).

Your thoughts?

"But men labor under mistake. The better part of the man is soon plowed into the soil for compost. By a seeming fate, commonly called necessity, they are employed, as it says in an old book, laying up treasures which moth and rust will corrupt and thieves break through and steal. It is a fool's life, as they will find when they get to the end of it, if not before."

It's from Walden, which I just began reading. It stood out to me, because I want to disagree with it a little... but in the end I think he's right.

What do you think?

I have studied the Vietnam War immensely, especially in college where I composed an honors thesis on the subject. I have come to the conclusion that South Vietnam was never a politically viable State. By that I mean a government who retains a plurality of support from its people and a military capable of defending itself. In addition, South Vietnam was never a legitimate democracy.

Is there anyone who cares to counter my claim?

Can anyone provide evidence that South Vietnam was recognized as a legitimate government by a plurality of its citizens? Keep in mind that all of the elections conducted by S.V. were dubious, so election results don't count.

Can anyone provide evidence that the South Vietnamese military was capable of defending itself against a VC/NVA/NLF attack? That means WITHOUT the assistance of American ground and air forces.
