I just turned 18 and I have about $1,000 that I would like to invest or put into some sort of savings account. What are my options with the amount of money I have? I am going to be making more money while I'm in college so I would like something that I could possibly add money into later. I dont know too much when it comes to this stuff so any advice would be appreciated!

I have seen some websites that state that we should not be involved with the government or submit to its laws. What is their reasoning for this? I just read Romans 13:1-7 and it said:

1. Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power?

Am I misinturpreting this?

1st this is not meant to offend anyone, I am just looking for answers to help me with my own beliefs.
1. Why do Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah?
(I wasnt raised in a religious household so I am ignorant to
just about everything.)
2. Why do Jews believe he isnt the Messiah? (please dont be
rude, these are peoples beliefs)
3. What are the major differences between Judiasm, and
Christianity?
4. Why do people take offense when you wish a Merry
Christmas or a happy Chaunaka? It is a jesture of good
will and warm wishes what ever your beliefs. I have been
wished both and I have also said both to people and
instead of smiling and keeping the spirit, some have been
blatently rude. I appologize and go on but it seems so
trivial to me to get offended when someone is wishing you
well.
I have no religion that I practice or even understand. I would like to understand more about them. TY

Is that because nothing democratic whatsoever is promoted by the way your church is structured and handles itself? Are you having debates and critical discussions about "doctrine"? Are you voting on what that doctrine will be?
I didn't think so. Good thing the Founding Fathers didn't base this country on the way churches do things.

Investigators say an elderly woman likely died of exposure after the electricity in her northern New Mexico home was cut off. Her frozen body was found Thursday morning in her home..The medical investigator said someone close to the 69 ear old woman even tried to pay the utility bill for her, but the power company would not accept it. knowing the temps would drop well below freezing....
SO is this just business as usual or a case of murder knowing that with her power cut off and no where else to go she would likely die???
