that just the pot calling the kettle black to which she got super offended and said I was going over board. Ok how is it going over board when someone puts down your state and everyone from it and then when you see they are from a state that's equally outback and not really famous for too much and you say well isn't that just the pot calling the kettle black? Come on, Iowa... Vermont. It's not like Iowa has some huge advantage over Vermont. When I think of Iowa I don't think of anything. When I think of Vermont I see the place where the artificial fishing lure was invented, the lever action rifle was invented, those T-shaped rulers, not to mention everything General Dynamics has done, IE: smart armor, vulcan guns, the MK19 grenade launcher, smart missiles, etc etc. Iowa? I can't even think of a thing. Sorry.

I was at school today hanging about with Steph(mine and Charley's(my exgirlfriend's) bestfriend) and Jacob(Charley's second exboyfriend after me and Steph's current boyfriend) because Charley after 6months has finally asked for some space which even though I'm not over her yet I'm giving it her(me and Charley are bestfriends but I'm always hanging around with her and she says it's getting abit annoying). Now lately I've been wanting a new girlfriend and I want to move on from Charley and I told Steph this and she told me to ask this girl called Curisha(one of Steph's friends) out who was stood right next to me and I thought this girl was way to good looking to ever go out with me and I said, 'no she'd never go out with me' and then Curisha said, 'It's a possibility', and I went so that's a maybe and she said, 'Yes' and Steph left us to talk and all we really did was stand there and I asked how old she was and she said, 'She was 13 going on 14 and she said that it isn't really that biga deal to her that we're one year apart(I'm 15) as girls normally go out with guys who are older', and this girl is perfect for me, our age difference doesn't bother her like it did Charley(Charley's 12 going on 13), she has a nice personality, her body isn't perfect but it's ok, she's got a gorgeous face and I'd like to ask her out but it just seems way too easy, I mean with me and Charley it took us atleast a month and a half to get together.
What should I do, should I ask her out or maybe leave it for a week or two?(I'm gonna leave for a few days if I ask her out or I'm gonna seem desperate with how I am at the moment)

One that didn't try and exterminate others?

Can an atheistic society live in piece with others and not try and exterminate them or oppress them?

I'm serious in this question and it is not an attempted slap at secularism. I have searched for a society like some here would like to have but have not found one single example of one that didn't oppress or try and exterminate others.

Look at China, the former USSR, Nazi Germany, Cuba etc...

Isn't this a strong reason to shun secularism?

Religious countries have had oppression but I don't know of any that killed millions like the secularist ones have. And before you try and use Nazi Germany as a "Christian" society, it won't fly. If they were a supposed Christian society why did Hitler exterminate millions of Christians? He pretended to be religious to win over the people and once in power he turned on them and killed even his top SS for being Christian.

My partner & i had to marry.We were decades family friends.His parents threw him out of house so went abroad.We met friends 4yrs in love.We were to marry after meeting.I found out fight argue on date to meet with him he asked gang to hurt me my folks.My cousin was in on it.I mean what would happen if i marry this man if he didnt feel like being married might have me killed?Im shocked family friend best friend in love would this to me ive never done a thing to him.I end it call everything off.Hes stalks me outside home online phone now blackmails Ive heard he dumped ex to go abroad by gang.I know why his parents & ex left.This is real.What why would person do this if they love someone.

My house is currently under construction...we paid $11k for a covered patio and it is totally messed up. The beams are each sitting a few inches off the concrete and the patio is way off from being centered on the concrete slab. I asked our builder rep about it and he said it is structurally safe and that all they can do to fix is to add more concrete but it would chip away anyway. the patio looks horrible and way different then the model home we had viewed before purchasing.

We went to another home site and their model home has the same patio problem but we can see where they added the concrete and its already chipping away (house less than one year)

Is it unreasonable to request any of the following:
A) fix the patio BUT we want a written guaranty that they are not just going to add concrete they KNOW will chip away - we want it fixed right - possibly rebuilt
B) the price of the patio taken off the house
C) our money back in FULL - including earnest money - their fault

I was on the train, waiting for the door to open. The train has motion sensors. This means that if you enter the area where the door is the door won't open, and you'd have to find another exit. So I was waiting for the door to open and the woman in front of me looked like she was going to go before the door finished opening. Not even thinking, on an instinct I gently touched her arm and was politely like "no don't go, it won't open." She then proceeds to yell at me. "Don't touch me. Use your words. This isn't the first time I've ridden the train, etc." I say, "I'm sorry." She yells at me again. I say I'm sorry again, but you don't have to be mean about it.

I just don't get this reaction. Can anyone please help me understand this so I can get over it. I'm kind of still in shock and keep replaying it in my head. Thanks!

I am currently an Indian citizen(Studying Aeronautical Eng.) but want to work in US and live there. Now I wanna know that what type of business oportunities will be available for me if I wanna start the one?
Also what type of business is growing faster there? What will the US need after 2010 and above? Like I concern the housing problem so to provide better and cheaper housing apartments etc... If you wanna start a biz in the US then it'll be of what?
