A girl told me that since I'm from Vermont I'm useless I told her she's from Iowa isn't...?

that just the pot calling the kettle black to which she got super offended and said I was going over board. Ok how is it going over board when someone puts down your state and everyone from it and then when you see they are from a state that's equally outback and not really famous for too much and you say well isn't that just the pot calling the kettle black? Come on, Iowa... Vermont. It's not like Iowa has some huge advantage over Vermont. When I think of Iowa I don't think of anything. When I think of Vermont I see the place where the artificial fishing lure was invented, the lever action rifle was invented, those T-shaped rulers, not to mention everything General Dynamics has done, IE: smart armor, vulcan guns, the MK19 grenade launcher, smart missiles, etc etc. Iowa? I can't even think of a thing. Sorry.

I was actually on a website discussing the death penalty when this girl didn't like my opinion, saw where I was from in my profile and attacked me and Vermont. So it wasn't some random my state is better thing.

I'm from Nebraska. We have a saying about Iowa. Why does the corn in Nebraska lean to the east? Because Iowa sucks.

Seriously, even people from Iowa who live in Nebraska wouldn't admit they are from Iowa. Iowa is like the white trash trailor park of the midwest.

Well most people will defend the state they are from whether they really like the state or not...just as you both defended your own states.

I'm from Iowa and have lived in several other states and still no NOTHING about Vermont. You don't know anything about Iowa because you have never been there or cared to learn anything about the state same as I feel about Vermont.

Every state has its advantage and disadvantage. And honestly Iowa has a lot more to offer than most people give it credit for.

What is this big argument over states? Sounds a bit childish.

Each state has its own positive and negative points.

Iowa is a farm state. Agriculture dominates Iowa's economy. The food we eat -- corn and wheat, for example, are an important part of the American diet. Farm based industries are in Iowa- like the John Deere Company, Maytag, Winnebago, and Sheaffer pens. Each of these companies employee thousands of people.

The items you mentioned that are manufactured in Vermont are important.... just as the manufacturing of tractors, washers and dryers and motor homes.

I would be interested in how you each look at your worlds. You grew up in a small state in the north. This young woman grew up in the midwest. How do you look at government, religion and other important issues? How does your experience growing up in states hundreds of miles apart influence your life?

That's more interesting than saying "My State is Better than Your State."

She seems rude and way too sensitive. I definitely like Vermont better for the scenery...I'm not from either state though. I don't think that someone would be useless just because they are from a specific state, that girl might be crazy.

It still "sounds" to me like she is saying "My state is better than your state." Or, "People from my state are better than people from your state."

Write it off. She probably didn't have much to say in the "chat" and went on the attack.
