All of the concerts worth going to are usually during the week, and have outrageous taxes on the admissions.

The reason all the concerts are during the week are because of our closeness to cities with larger venues. Namely Los Angeles and Las Vegas. On any given week, a band will play on a Saturday in Los Angeles then a Wednesday in San Diego and then the next Saturday in Las Vegas.
Basically bands will have bigger paydays playing on the weekends in those other towns.
What really sucks is since Irvine built the Verizon Center, bands are just bypassing San Diego altogether. We're lucky to get anything now.

The weather is far too nice in San Diego to inspire good art. Some of the best music, and other art, comes from cold climates where people are forced to stay inside during the snow and rain, thus inspiring creativity and productivity. San Diego is filled with beach bums in flip flops who carouse around the shore all day.
Just my theory and two cents.

Austin is hands down a extra effective place to stay than Dallas. the human beings are extra laid returned, it is not so massive as Dallas, the song scene is mind-blowing, there are hills and lakes (Dallas has a lake yet no hills) i'd say it may be somewhat extra fee-effective to stay than Dallas, even nevertheless it could be comparable. Try living near Salt Lake Utah. They are very finicky about who plays. You're better off in San Diego.

Because people with shitty taste in music, art and night life welcome and embrace it keeping good bands from stopping by. They know San Diego people are a lost cause.
