I am interested to see if it is really neccessary to have homework if you are in school doing work for most of the day anyway. Also, kids do have lives, such as sports, holidays, friends, etc and it doesn't seem fair that homework should take time away from those things.

I can relate because at least one night a week, I am up till one AM doing homework, even if I started as soon as I got home from school at 2:30.

Any opinions? Your opinions will go into my essay no matter what, but keep them clean if you know what I mean.

Thanks!

The Dollar value has been going down a lot, but not many people know of it, and yet it affects their daily lives. What do you think we should do to help the dollar value go back up?

I see two dynamics at work:

1) The theory is a useful working hypothesis

and

2) The theory is a law of nature itself.

Number 1) is generally sound and probably could not be argued against very effectively.

However, it is number 2) that concerns me.

One Dr. Marsh stated: "I need offer no argument for evolution, since to doubt evolution is to doubt science, and science is only another name for truth." (in Dewar, "Difficulties of the Evolution Theory.)

Granted, this statement was made in the 1880s. However, it doesn not sound out of place today.

If scientists regard evolution as not only a useful working hypothesis, but a LAW OF NATURE itself, doesn't evolutionary theory then enter the realms of metaphysics, mythology, and philosophy (all valid areas of study, but non-testable)?

Trying to make someone a gift whose allergic to cocoa. I came across some white chocolate baking bars but have so far been unlucky in finding any recipes to attempt brownies with them. Tried one recipe with replacing baking chocolate for white chocolate; didn't work out too well. Any ideas / advice / links would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Most search for love for most of their lives. We feel so lost, alone, rejected, and as though our life is not fulfilled without somebody to share the rest of our lives with. However, if you find your true love and are married for a great many years, then one day disease hits. Your love of your life begins to suffer day by day and year by year, your loved ones health worsens. To see your love slowly fading away and fading away, something nobody can imagion going through.
Wouldn't you rather not have a love of your life rather than to see your loved one suffer for years? My parents died when I was young and in a way, today, I feel that was a blessing. Their suffering stopped at a young age. There is good an bad either way. Go get the dvd "Away From Her" and you may form your own opinion. You just have to see that movie, it is great, true, but so heart breaking. What do you think?

My husband and I will be cooking our turkey ourselves and all the other trimmings and just staying home this year. I remember all the good Thanksgiving dinners my parents had. My parents are gone now and I still miss those dinners my sister and I use to have with our families and friends. My sister and I don't talk anymore as things just aren't the same with Mom and Dad gone. We both live in different states now. Thank God for the good memories.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I took my dog for a simple eyelid procedure. I received a phone call that afternoon from the vet saying everything went fine but he would like to keep the dog overnight for monitoring so the dog would not paw stitches. The vet informed me the next morning that the dog had hung itself while trying to get out of its holding area. Collar on the top of the fence. In other words, the dog was never watched and died a horriffic death.
