My husband and I will be cooking our turkey ourselves and all the other trimmings and just staying home this year. I remember all the good Thanksgiving dinners my parents had. My parents are gone now and I still miss those dinners my sister and I use to have with our families and friends. My sister and I don't talk anymore as things just aren't the same with Mom and Dad gone. We both live in different states now. Thank God for the good memories.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

My husband and I will be staying at home alone, just us and our two dogs. I tried to call my son, but no response, as usual. My great-aunt just called and I started to cry. Things are tough on me on a regular basis, with my family not speaking to me, but the holidays are even worse. My husband's father passed away in April and his Mom is in an assisted living facility. We went to go visit her for a few moments this morning ... she was all dressed up and about to leave to go to her "boyfriend's" house. That hurt me. She would rather spend time with strangers than with us. It just don't get why people don't want to spend time with me. My husband was trying to cheer me up ... and it's HIS Mom that hurt me. I'm trying to put on a happy face and consider his feelings too ... but I am a lot more sensitive than he is! But, I have a nice meal planned and hope that I can hold it all together. He will be watching football this afternoon .. so I will probably be on the computer. Such is life!

Wishing you and your husband a very Happy Thanksgiving. May you and yours be Blessed! Yes our parents are gone and we had over a hundred at our table when we were home. i have four brothers and after our parents passed away Thanksgiving was never the same. We have all gone our ways, and our children now have gone theirs. Never the less I continue to up hold each in Prayer, and ask Gods Blessing upon each this Thanksgiving. Please remember our Troops and light a candle for all of those who can't be here with us such as our parents and families. We are in Florida for the winter. My wife is from NJ and I'm from Maine. Yes thank God for the Memories as Bob Hope always said. Happy Eating!!!!
