As part of Black History Month in February, an artist is creating a mural on the side of a building. A painting of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., will occupy the cent of the mural and will be surrounded by a border of uniform width showing other prominant African-Americans. The side of the building is 50 feet wide by 30 feet high, and the artist wants to devote 25% of the available space to the border. What should the width of the border be?

After looking at the back of the book, the answer should be 2.5 feet, however how do they come about this answer. And shouldn't you be trying to find the length of the border, not the width (murals are on one side of the building, it doesn't go off onto the two other walls it's touching)?

Any guidance on how they came about this answer?

My insurance company is giving me a check and will be reported as a 1099-MISC to reimburse me for the taxes i will have to pay the IRS because of a mistake that was made by them.

Being that this check is being dispersed to me to repay the tax consequences I will incur due to their mistake, I want to make sure im not going to be responsible for any additional taxes on this reimbursement amount.

Can anyone clarify how this amount will be treated or if there are any special steps or notations i should make when I file my return?

I broke up with someone and I still love that person but she doesn't love me anymore and I know that the relationship we had could never be the same. Even if the girl decided she loved me I still wouldn't want to get back together with her because things are so different now. However, its been 3 months since we broke up; I moved to a new city, got rid of everything I had that reminded me of her and don't talk to her. For some reason I can't get her out of my head, she's there all the time and she's in every one of my dreams. Everyday I keep loving someone who I could never be with again. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Can anyone give me some advise on moving on? I need to move on, but can't.

I want to find some things to do in New York City for a day, but really don't have the time in money to do alot of sightseeing, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what I could do fairly inexpensively to take up that day. I had originally not planned to have that day free, but it turned out less than a week before my trip I would have it free. My trip is mainly for some college related stuff so now I have to figure out how to fill this one day.

I am a big fan of the traditional Finnish Sauna - and I would love to have one...but for the time being I can't afford it.....
However, I see everyone and his brother selling infrared saunas.....hunh? I thought IF was a baaad thing?

I am attracted to one of my managers at work. I haven't acted on it for the obvious reason that he is one of my managers and I didnt want to date someone I work with. However, I found a new job and this is my last week at my current job. We have started flirting more than usual recently, and I am very attracted to him, not just sexually but he has a great personality as well. Im not sure if he is attracted to me (I am attractive, but I am not sure if he feels that "spark") or if he just enjoys flirting with me, with alot of men do without realizing it (just my experience). Should I just go for it since I'm not going to be working there much longer anyways or no? If yes, how should I approach it?
