From Maine to North Carolina, the commercial fishing boats are under the same regulations. They are limited to the tonnage of fish they catch. Once they reach the limit, they have to stop or else receive stiff fines in the tens of thousands of dollars. Summer flounder is the big catch up and down the coast. By the way, the recreational sector is suffering. Since there is no accurate way to estimate how much fish the recreational sector gets, the numbers never favor them and they are reported as catching more fish then they actually do.
