you think that it's more open-minded to accept the "possibility" that God could exist?

Anyone call themselves agnostic because you get less crap from Christians than if you tell them you're an atheist?

I'm sure most agnostics are sincere, don't get me wrong. To tell you why I asked -- I called myself an agnostic for years (even though I thought God couldn't possibly exist) because it helped my avoid a lot of crap from Christians. It was easy just to say, "I try to be open-minded about it. So I have to say that I just don't know." In my case, I was just being chicken. Any other chickens out there?

so you know me.. love computers and stuff...

anyways, i was thinking of making computers to sell. not an actual business, just a pastime with some benefits. like make a computer and sell it. problem is, i've been looking around for places to sell. i see a guy whose home built computer has been there for like months and hes got like 100% score. so ebays a bad option. craigs list? nah...

im not actually starting a business..kinda... its more like someone tells me what they want and i make a comp to sell to them. or i can make some comps and offer them around. any ideas?

I guess atheists do not have faith but I'm just curious to find if they have hope in life.Like me, as a believing & practicing Christian, whatever bad happens in life, I know that God is in control of my life & tuns everything around for good.No matter how bad the situation may 'seem', even when prayers don't 'seem' to get answered I can always see the light at the end of the tunnel because I have faith in an unfailing power that far exceeds anything on earth. The hope of being healed, the hope & faith of having my sins forgiven, the hope of living a blessed & prosperous life...& the hope of having an eternal life, these are a few blessings of having faith in a God & it is such a positive feeling.I look around the world I live, people go through all kinds of stuff, some live depressed & hopeless with no one to cry out to, but some have hope & smile through the storms & make it through because they hope in a God who is able.
Sensible answers to this sincere question would be appreciated.

Smokers are forced to pay higher taxes on the product they choose to consume. Society has deemed it risky behavior and has decided smokers should pay now for the healthcare they will probably need later.
HIV/AIDS drug cocktails have come a long way and are also very expensive. We tax payers often foot the bill.
If one risky choice of behavior that cost tax dollars is bad, why isn't the other?

As a play on the rapist/victim scenario down the list a bit...

Once saved, always saved, according to fundies. Yet, faith without works is DEAD FAITH. Dead faith, equals a hypocrite, equals not saved.

So, if a rapist is "saved", then goes out and rapes someone, is he still "saved" because he believed Jesus died for his sins?

For those of you who say "yes"... how can you say this when...
But someone may well say, "You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works."
James 2:17-19

Saved by faith, justified by works! If you do not have the works, you have no faith, and therefore, a hypocrite, and unsaved. Once cannot call themselves a faithful believer and then go and do against what Jesus Christ says (ie. rape, murder, etc) and be saved still.

So no, once saved, not always saved. One can renounce their salvation by doing a work that is against what Jesus Christ Himself said to do...

I mixed the yeast with water that was about 110ºF (which is what the package said). I waited 5-10 minutes for it to froth up and it never did after 10 minutes. I continued to make the bread anyway. Do you think my bread won't come out well since the yeast never bubbled?

Thanks

Seriously, what's wrong with getting together with family and friends to bake cookies and pies and make fudge and hot cocoa, watch Christmas specials like Charlie Brown, and just interact with each other? Is it not "cool" because hardly any kids and teenagers have experienced that and it's not what their friends are doing?

Heres the deal. I had a part time job. The manager is extrememly rude and "rubs" my shoulders everytime he is around. I stopped going to work and was very "bugged" about this. They fired me after not showing up the 2nd day.

I don't want to file anything .. i don't want to see these people again.

I just got done with one of the worst experiences of my life. The boney projections of the teeth were curved, thus lots of drilling and cracking involved.

Anyhoo... I'm worried the guy didn't prescribe antibiotics... only steroids and vicadin.

Should I go back and demand antibiotics? If you look at my ask history, I am a bit of a hypochondriac.... I'm now paranoid that i'll get an infection!

FYI: I got my other wisdom teeth removed 2 years ago... and got really sick from the amxycillin. But don't i need SOME type of antibiotic?

I would really like to hear your opinions.
