Depends what it is being compared to and what sex. If it is a male and its either watch the game, or go shopping for shoes, its an obvious answer (football game). If it is a female, they would most likely choose shoes over football. Saving a life or watching a game is the same for both sexes (life). Unless its super-bowel Sunday and you team is in it... Then it may be different. I on the other hand would rather watch something useful. Football isn't going to help you later in life really.

In the grand scheme of things it's really not that important.
But it's as important to football fans as going shoe shopping or watching "Dancing With The Stars" or "the Bachelor" would be to you. Everybody has different interests, that's just a fact of life.

Well that depends on waht the other option is
I mean if it's to go to a friends house for a dinner party, Football wins
If it involves family resposibilities such as a planned day with the kids
The family wins

yes. Football season = reason for living. And the modivation to keep going on Weekdays. Live for football season man...good thing is, when football ends...baseball starts....ahh...perfect circle of life.

I think the issue is that you are uneccesarilly smothering your man. Men need space, we are not tiny little chihuahua with fuzzy sweaters that need to be cuddled all day.
I know this sounds stupid, but, men are like slinkies, if you let it go out, it will always come back.
