My old RCA 5.1 Home Theater receiver just bit the dust. My room is wired to handle 7.1 configuration, but I am not sure which would be best. Room size: 13X20 with front projection DLP picture. Budget of about $500 for the receiver. Should I put the money into a top of the line 5.1 or middle 7.1?

In my science class, we are having a debate, and I was put onto the team that is supposed to argue for science NOT having to be regulated. Seeing as how I do not agree with what I am supposed to argue for, I need some reasons as to why science should not be regulated. If you have any news articles, or anything else to back up your reasoning, please share it.

For Malaysians travellers, do you experience difficulties in sending sms from Sidney to Malaysia and do you need to do any settings to send or receive sms there?

For Australians friends, beside Optus, which are the other telco networks available in Sidney? Do you have any problems before sms to your friends overseas.

I am asking this because with the assumption that if you are using Optus network, you might not be able to sms to overseas friends (who are using prepaid cards) and their networks are not supported by Optus.

Thank you for your help in advance :)

I'm having a hard time understanding probability. I always thought that probability doesn't really exist, it was just a idea we came up with. I've always thought that if we had a time machine and kept going back in time to observe a specific event it would end up playing out the same way every time

But now i had someone try and explain uncertainty to me and I’m confused.

Is there really such a thing as a random occurrence or is there only one possible way for every event in the universe to play out?

I'm looking for a physics based answer not a philosophical one. Thanks

The numbers are all below the letters..
How would you break that apart??
Like Calcium = 2?
Hydrogen = 2?
I'm confused.

Hi, my husband and I are looking for something to do this weekend (Sept 22nd) for our 6th wedding anniversary. We enjoy nature-ish things and would like to spend at least one night. We were thinking of the usual Monterey or the San Mateo coast at a bed and breakfast but wanted something more original...any suggestions???

A car can not even be sold unless it has gone through incredibly expensive federal crash testing, third party crash testing, and its own corporate crash testing. It must be equipped with airbags, seatbelts, and specific and expensive designs in the sheet metal and frame.
A motor cycle does not even cover the body of the occupant, it would fail any crash test (obviously) and has no seatbelts, airbags, sheet metal.
Not to mention they are noisy and sound like a flatulating farm animal, much like the riders of them. But that's besides the point.
Why are they allowed on the road?

There is a huge debate in this country on what is the acceptable amount of power the government should have to eavesdrop/surveill the American public. (Wire taps, email, etc) If you were president, what level of survellance would you want to allow intelligence/law enforcement agencies to have on its citizens? As always, I ask everyone keep this debate civil and respect each others comments and beliefs. Thanks.

My son is in the Air guard goes to a local junior college, he has struggles with grades and has taken many classes over. Our concerns are his choices with religion and moral choices. He has recently become very vocal insisting he is atheist most of school papers focus around this belief. He seems to be very promiscuous. He also is very anti government he constantly speaks badly about our government. He has started drinking and just recently I learned smoking dope. He doesn't do much to help at home. He eats the food when he is here and uses the "facilities" He also has medical issues of which he has decided he no longer wants to take the medication because it makes him feel bad when he drinks. My husband and I have spoken and we are going to ask him to move out, but we worry that he will quit school and his drinking and choices will just get worse. Help any suggestions?

Is there such thing as compensation for people "Mentally Unfit for the Workplace"?
(This was in a realistic fiction novel I was reading, which is why I phrase it this way, as it was in the book)

If there isn't anything that draws immediate reconition, is there any form of government payment to those with possibly violent personality disorders to "keep them out" of the workplace?
