I have to prove the following by method of contradiction:

Let p and q be positive integers with p a) Prove that q-p divides p-1 if and only if q-p divides q-1.
b) Let d be a common divisor of p-1 and q-1. Prove that d divides q-p.

I understand the concept behind proving if, then statements by contradiction (assume the "if..." and also assume the not "then..." then reach a contradiction) but I'm confused as to how to do it for an if and only if problem.

here's the cinch. "B" and "G" got married when they were 18 years of age. "B" only married "G" since he was pressured by his parents. When they were still lovers, "B" tried asking "G" if they can make love, "G" declined and told him that "B" shall wait until they get married. So, they got married but "G"s promise did not come. After 3years "G" went to Manila to work, and "B" eventually became a sugar trader in Negros. Because of their separation "B" was often seen with "X" and he frequents the various nightspots in B.C. After 9 years "B" wanted his marriage with "G" annulled on the ground of psychological incapacity. If you were the judge how would you decide the case...

Rumor has it she's going to model it on Massachusetts which forces all uninsured people to purchase a health care policy. It's not optional. You aren't given a choice. You buy a policy or they take your money and buy it for you. Low income people will get a subsidy.

1. Will this cause businesses that now cover their employees to drop coverage and let employees fend for themselves?

2. Will illegal aliens be forced into purchasing their own health care coverage and, if so, is it really the job of the US taxpayer to subsidies low income illegal aliens to help them pay?

I am getting married in November and I don't think I will be able to walk down the aisle b/c of my nerves. I am afraid that I am going to throw up right in front of everyone. I have a slab house and I hate carpet. I have allergies and don't need the dirt and dust that collects. I would like to have wood or tile floors. I have seen the acid finished floors that look quite elegant. I've been dating this guy for over 3 months. He was still married but was getting a divorced. He then found that his wife was pregnant for five months and hadn't even told him. He then told me that he is going to work things out with her after we had already started making plans to live together after the divorced was finalized. If he really wants to work things out with her then why does he still talk to me? I know we both love each other but we want whats best for the child. I just need some advice on this situtation. I can see that the greeks in our section we are not so united..Sometimes i see it in the real life too..

i live in greensburg, pennsylvania. a friend of mines daughter had to press charges against her boyfriend for beating her up. actually her dad made her. she did not want to. anyway he is in jail & the hearing came up & she came home & said it was continued. we ask her when the new date is & she says she does not know. now she is visiting him in jail. we heard a rumor that she dropped the charges so that she could go visit him. she writes to him as well. is there anyway i can find out for sure that she dropped the charges? if you press charges against someone, are you still allowed to visit them in jail? thank you
