Absolutely not. Because of personal prejudice and animosity, sense of inferiority, and alliances between users against others.
A question dedicated to the memory of Pavarotti gets reported and deleted, an answer about Turkish air crafts having helped with the recent fires gets reported and deleted, an so on.
Reports and thumbs down by "anonymous" hooded low lifers who thumb down even our answers to provocative questions, not respecting even the truth about our national issues.
Needless to say that the hooded Internet ghosts are never present there where an answer about our history and democracy is needed.
As for the course for "best answer", they are there to obtain the title of top greek answerer, as this this the only thing they can achieve in life.
Plus the "satisfaction" to thumb down any answer of those they dislike, before even it is posted...

No, I think not. And this is the reason why I avoid to be visiting yahoo Q/A, just because there is an undeclared war inside here.
Even if you answer that 1+1=2, you'll get a series of thumbs down (by those who believe 1+1=134 ? perhaps).

Excuse me?What united means? In the section?
I will tell you something..I really got disappointed from the behaviour of some compatriots of ours. And i say compatriots, since it is already known that we can not accuse always other nationalities, and this is prooved.
At the beginning many greek users were thinking that the FYROMIANS, turks, albanians were the cause of the reports and the thumbs down..Concerning the turkish users, they have expressed a good behaviour the majority in our section, i have to admit it, and many times when we had been hard with them, they never reported us, i can say also that many greek users participate in the turkish section, and without so many thumbs down.
The FYROMIANS?They can do it, or the albanians, as far there is a discussion about a topic which can concern them.Without defending anyone, i have seen Fyromians in other sections who have given decent answers, and even if greeks were above their answers, they didnt give them thumbs down..
But...when a question about Rhodes for example with no other answer except of mine who is talikng not only as a greek but as a rhodian too gets immediately 3 thumbs down, isnt it wierd? And ok, lets say they dont like the answer..Do they have any suggestions?Give thumbs down, but they have to speak also, so we can see their opinion. They just hide their private feelings against the user, by giving him the thumb down. And the worst? They dont even participate.
Needless to say that an answer which is similar to another gets thumbs down without reasons, while the other above is trhe same...
And they may think that we run after the title of top contributor..
I got this title if you want to know not as TOP CONTRIBUTOR (which is nothing important)but as ANSWERIANO DOC from the italian, before starting my aprticipation in the american,so i didnt try to ''steal''points from the others..Because i can participate in other languages also..
For God' s sake, a virtual program...if it is possible..
Then we complain if some people attack the greek section...
The greeks are united abroad, since the ancient times, and in the recent history the conflicts were so frequent.
And now, even in the virtual reality we dont miss the chance to proove it..It is a shame, i get really sad,so next time when we receive a negative comment for our country, please dont complain..These things contribute to this result

Even though we try to be united, every one is entitled to his or her own opinion. Don't you agree??? That is the democratic way. Of course, being Greek, we often will agree on many issues, but not always. We must respect differences of opinion.

i think that this is in the greek blood to make noise and to argue about not so important issues.
and i really do believe that this makes us stay behind in todays world. other countries are united and they improve their technology, economy and so on. and this is the trick.
when you are united you are strong and you can do sth in your life.
but the greeks just dont seem to get along...
and of course we show this to the outer world as well.

Without meaning to be judgmental, I see our section as a microcosm to our country. This also happens on a national level, doesn't it? Lots of examples throughout our history. I wouldn't wish to elaborate on that, but I'm sure you know what I mean.
