What ever happened to the freedom of choice and the ability to choose your own path ? When government states something is mandatory aren't we as a people loosing a freedom ? While having healthcare is a desirable thing, shouldn't the individual have a choice as to whether they want to participate or not ? How concerned are you that government mandates what best for you instead of allowing you to decide for yourself ?

I am not looking for something elaborate. Just a simple pattern that i can knit in white for the day. I like feminine things, and have a soft spot for lace. I have not yet decided if I want a long or short dress, so all suggestions welcome.

I would be happy with links to patterns, free or not, as long as there are pictures. I would also be happy with book suggestions, particularly if there is somewhere online where i can see pictures of the patterns in the book. Bonus points if you have knit the pattern yourself, and double bonus points for pictures of how it turned out.

About 15-20 people in my office have been watching how the Playoff will end up. It has become a matter of honor among us. Anyway, we have been trying to figure out who will be playing whom in the first round of playoffs.

We know that in the Division Series, the wild card team plays the team with the best record. However, an MLB rule states that teams from the same division are not allowed to face each other in the Division Series. At this point in the AL, Boston is the 1st place team and New York is the wild card team (both in the East Division). Therefore, NY should the play the 2nd place team. The problem is that the LA Angels and the Cleveland Indians have been flipping back and forth as to who is in the second spot for a while. Also, since the 13th of September, they have had the same win/loss record.

If the season ends with LAA and CLE with the same win/loss record, who will play the NY in the first round (assuming no changes).

I have a hissing noise coming from the rear of my car. I have narrowed it down to something that has to do with the fuel tank. It only hisses when the car is on and I only notice performance issues with the car when the fuel tank is less than half full. When the tank is less than half full, you cannot step on the gas peddle to fast or the car acts like it is going to stall. My check engine light did come on a few days ago. I went and had it looked at but the code for the car said it was the gas cap. I want to know if anyone knows what it might be and how much it might cost to fix.

What happens when you repeal tax cuts, raise taxes by 110 billion, increase costs to large businesses, and subsidize small businesses? Anybody heard of inflation? How about employee wages? Will they go up or down while businesses are simultaneously forced to increase employee benefits while paying higher taxes? Let me guess, another minimum wage increase. Why don't we just let Hillary determine how much all businesses can charge for goods, what their profits can be, and how much they have to pay employees? Better yet, why don't we just let China take over our government?

My husband & I of 12 years have never been happy ones. He made me sign a prenuptial b/c his first wife cheated on him. He always told me that he knew that I didn't deserve it but I would have to suffer for what his ex-wife did to him. I had a horrible first marriage for 20 yrs married to an alcoholic and we lost everything we had. After 9 yrs married to 2nd hubby, it had been 3 years since we slept together. I met someone out of town while living w/children (I had to find work b/c I couldn't find any at home & my husband didn't want to have to pay for everything-even though he had the money) I completely left my husband at that point and had an affair for 4 mths. We were very much in love with each other. THE ONLY REASON THAT I CAME HOME WAS B/C I THOUGHT THAT IS WHAT GOD WANTED ME TO DO. My husband only works about 12 hours a week now so he can keep an eye on me. He taped my phone conversations and put a key logger on my computer. I have now separated from him & living w/sister

I had a very vivid dream about my ex. It happens from time to time. We were childhood sweethearts and he broke my heart. We were seperated 2 years ago. I signed a quit claim deed and gave him the property shortly after. He re-financed the house without me on the loan, I no longer lived there and we are now divorced. They ran the title BEFORE the quit claim deed was filed since my ex sat on it for some time. Earlier this year I received paperwork re: the foreclosure of his house. I was named as one of the defendants. I filed a response with copies of the quit claim deed and proof I was NOT a signer on the current mortgage. I WAS on the title but am not any longer and again, I was not involved in the re-financing of the house. A judgement has been made and I am still (according to the court) responsible. How is that possible and am I truly responsible?
