Did God give me the strength I need to embrace atheism? No way, but the behavior of most believers has certainly given me good reason to doubt God's existence. Have you seen how believers gloat over their fantasy that we atheists are all going to burn in Hell? That alone is reason enough to stay as far away from religion and religious people as it's possible to get. If I do burn in Hell, it'll be with the knowledge that I'm a good and moral person. Better that, than sucking up to an imaginary genocidal maniac who hides his very existence to insure people with intellectual integrity will suffer, while the wicked and corrupt are easily forgiven and rewarded.

I have embraced atheism through all the hypocritical nonsense that is spewed forth everyday by the lying liars that tell us not to do something in fear of eternal damnation while doing the exact thing they are lying about.

Naturally people would take this question at face value. It sounds much more like tongue-in-cheek. And judging by the answers so far, it appears that it is eliciting the exact response it was meant to.

Why is everyone so down on God? Even the atheists--how can they NOT believe in Him and be down on Him too?
Sort of like not believing in Santa Claus and hating him too, makes no sense.

I think most the folks don't seem to be in the mood for a little humour. Usually it's us Christians who are a little uptight.
