Today I had to put my 4 month old black and tan coonhound to sleep. I want to know more about why my puppy died than just "because his chances of survival was really low". Well, here are the details. When we brought my dog into the vet's place, he was really weak. He couldn't even move. His head was lying down, and he seemed like he was suffering. He couldn't even keep his mouth closed. Anyway long story short, the doctor told us that his body temperature was so low enough not to be registered by the machine, that he was very skinny, and that he didn't respond to any stimuli. Basically, he was in a critical state. The doctor also ran a test to see if he had parvo. It came out to be negative. What I'm confused about is why did this happen? He was just fine during the weekends. He was pretty active. Also he was eating well, until about Monday. We wondered why he was just lying around, and not eating anything. Then he threw up more than he usually did. Help. I wanna know what happened.
