Non-denominational refers to those churches which have not formally aligned themselves with an established denomination. This however does not preclude a doctrine or identifiable orthodoxy: non-denominational churches establish a functional denomination via their own internal means and methods of policy and worship without external direction in policy or worship practices from any regional, national, or multinational organizations. Members of non-denominational churches often consider themselves simply "Christians", and many feel at home when visiting any number of other denominational churches with compatible beliefs. Yet the acceptance of any particular doctrinal issue, for example accepting the doctrine of the Trinity, establishes a de facto denomination.
On the other hand, some non-denominational churches consciously reject the idea of a denominational structure as a matter of doctrine, insisting that each congregation must be autonomous, sometimes pointing out that in early Christianity, there were no denominations. In support of this stance, 1 Corinthians 1:12-13; King James Version is often cited. It reads:
“ Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? Or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? ”
In essence, it can be said that each non-denominational church forms its own unofficial and unnamed "denomination" with a specific set of tenets as defined by the governing structure of the church (including its members). Any similarities between those beliefs and the beliefs of denominations or other non-denominational churches is organic rather than established or official.

A non-denominational church is a christian church that has no denomination. Meaning some christian churches are Methodist, or Baptist or Pentacostal, thereby only reading certain sections of the bible where in a non denominational church they read the entire bible and really try to get you to understand it, and related to you life.

Some churches are part of denominations like Baptist, Methodist, etc.
And some churches are not associated with any denominations. They get to make their own rules, and don't have to answer to anyone I guess.
Sounds like fun!!

It means that it is not Catholic or Lutheran ..it means that they are independent. My church is non-denominational. They teach us how to have a personal relationship with Jesus. I did not think that was possible. They also teach the literal truth about the Bible. I love that.

It is an admittedly man-made church based around a charismatic leader and his theological perspective. In such a church their is danger of not having theological stability and a consistent and veracious message. Worship at such a church with extreme caution.

They are lead by a person or people who get to interpret doctrine as they see fit. Very easy to be lead astray if you don't have a prophet at the head of your church.
