I know I have problems & issues. Yet no family or friends know. Instead I put on this act and try to appear normal.
The sane thing to do would be to confide in someone I know. But I don't. I don't want to worry them, have them judge me, talk about me or simply think I'm nuts.
Why do others come here for advice instead of going to people they know?

Well, it's easier to be completely honest about your situation when in a room full of strangers who you'll never have to face and who will never know your true identity.

You get a variety of perspectives on things from all different people. You can also see if your opinion is shared by others and be open minded about others ideas. I share my issues with people in my life also though, no reason not to. This is just a great forum for finding out the general consensus about stuff.

People come here because others read the situation that is happening, and they have no prior knowledge of the situation. Therefore, strangers give unbiased answers. Also, others do not know you, and aren't afraid to hurt your feelings, even if it is the truth. Family and friends always take your side, even if your wrong, and often try to sugar coat things for you.

For just that reason. We don't personally know you so its easier to tell strangers your troubles. You don't have to look any of us in the eye after you bare your soul. There isn't the embarrassment factor there would be telling a friend or family member.

I think it is because of the fact that 1. You will get alot of different answers, 2. You may be able to use some of these answers. 3. No one on Yahoo knows who you really are so therefore you can be more honest with your feelings.

Because we answer based on what you want to tell us. We are giving advice solely on the issue at hand and not digging in to the rest of your life. And we don't ask you about it every time we see you or try to fix it for you!

Cause it is an outsiders point of view on the situation and what they would do if they were in that situation. It is crazy hu, I have talked about stuff on here that friends and family have no clue about.
