George Washington owned slaves?
Alexander Hamilton was a bastard?
Charles Francis Adams, great great great grandson of John Adams was the CEO of Raytheon during the missile build up after World War Two, and a war profiteer no less than Dick Cheney.
Robert Livingston, the man who administered the oath of office to George Washington was the richest man in New York?
The soldiers in the Revolutionary War were ill clothed, ill fed, and short of ammunition and were not even paid all that was entitled to them? How much different from Donald Rumsfeld's famous, "You go to war with the army you have, not the army you want".

Best bash wins!

I have a living room with no windows. There is very little light from a window in the kitchen. Are there any plants that will grow in there?

CATS - YOU LOVE US REALLY

1. CHAIRS AND RUGS: If you have to throw up, get into a chair quickly. If you cannot manage in time, get to an Oriental rug. If no Oriental rug is available, shag is good.

2. DOORS: Do not allow closed doors in any room. To get a door opened, stand on hind legs and hammer with forepaws. Once door is opened, it is not necessary to use it. After you have ordered an outside door opened, stand halfway in and out and think about several things, This is particularly important during very cold weather, rain, snow, and mosquito season.

3. GUESTS: Quickly determine which guest hates cats the most. Sit on that human's lap. If you can, arrange to have "Friskies Fish n' Glop" on your breath.
For sitting on laps or rubbing against clothing, select fabric colour that contrasts well with your fur. For example: white furred cats go to black wool clothing.
For the guest who claims, "I love kitties," be ready with aloof disdain; apply claws to stockings or use a quick nip on the ankle.
When walking among the dishes on the dinner table, be prepared to look surprised and hurt when scolded. The idea is to convey, "But you always allow me on the table when company isn't here."
Always accompany guests to the bathroom. It isn't necessary to do anything. Just sit and stare.

4. WORK: If one of your humans is sewing or writing and another is idle, stay with the busy one. This is called helping, otherwise known as hampering.
Following are the rules for hampering:
A. When supervising cooking, sit just behind the left heel of the cook. You can't be seen and thereby stand a better chance of being stepped on, picked up and consoled.
B. For book readers, get in close under the chin, between the humans eyes and the book, unless you can lie across the book itself. If it is a newspaper, claw at it until shredded. Your human will appreciate a home-made toy!
C. For knitting projects, curl up quietly onto the lap of the knitter and pretend to doze. Occasionally reach out and slap the knitting needles or split yarn. The knitter may try to distract you with a scrap ball of yarn. Remember, the aim is to hamper work.

5. PLAY: It is important. Get enough sleep in the daytime so you are fresh for playing catch mouse or king-o-the-hill on their bed between 2am and 4am.
MOST IMPORTANT: Begin people training early. You will then have a smooth-running household. Humans need to know basic rules. They can be taught if you start early and are consistent.

NH3, H2SO4, CH3OH, CH3COOH

Please help me to understand why you are ranking them the way that you do. There are so many rules and exceptions it seems for acids and bases that it is hard for me to rank a group of more than two.

Hebrew scholars have known for centuries that the first 5 books of the bible were not written by Moses but rather by 4 individual authors and, through the study of the language, they can even say in which century and kingdom each author lived. None lived in the time of Moses.

If the church honestly didn't know who wrote them, why should these books be considered reliable?

Side note: Please don't simply claim that Moses was in fact the author. Autobiographies don't usually contain descriptions of the author's death. This is a serious question.

so have been out of University for the past year. I have been given two options for possible return: One, I apply to the Board of Examiners asking them to let me repeat my second year. but this decision also has to be made by the Vice Chancellor.

Or two they let me remain a "student out of residence" and simply sit my exam part next year but I'll get no financial funding more than likely which would make life difficult for me.

Essentially I want to be able to return as an official student and repeat my second year [the first option ]. Does anyone know of any spells I can cast to allow this to happen?

Please do not ask me to pray or turn to GOD, as I am not a Christian and am simply interested in white magic spells.

in my slot position i can go with A.Green against Carolina or Ginn jr vs Dallas. RBs are much better in my league but Ginn jr is returning both punt and kicks. I get 1 p per 10 rush 6 per td and 6 at 100 yds. WR gets 1 per 20 yds and 6 at 100 yards. no points for a catch but also get 1 per 20 return yds and 6 at 100 return yards

Today my boyfriend got a ticket for parking in a handicap space because his placard had expired. He does legitimately need it as he had very serious back surgery last year and his back does still give him bad pain sometimes. Anyway this morning his back was really hurting and he made the misake of using his expired placard to park at school and got a ticket.

So now I got really scared because I looked on the DMV california website and it says that placard "abuse" is a misdemeanor and you can get a fine of $1000 and up to 6 months in county jail!

But looking on here it seems most people say a handicap ticket is only about $250 and no jail time.

I know its different since he does have a placard compared to someone not having one at all and parking in a space.

Does anyone know how this works? The fine I'm not worried about- we can figure out how to pay it. I'm just really scared about the jail thing. Anyone have experience with something like this?

Thank you.

You’re shaking in anticipation to what going to be next….. I lean in from behind you with my hand around your neck then I say, “Do you have anything that is illegal or sharp objects that might cut me? I am placing you under arrest. You have the right to remain silent….etc.”...... "do you wish to tell me what's going on?"

There is a young man lives near me and he has a 5 month old English Bull Terrier. It's never on a lead but he won't let anyone pet it. Not only that but when it approached my dog as all puppies do, he snatched it up and smacked it across the nose.
When I asked him why his reply really shocked me. "I don't want it being friendly with other dogs".
The dog looks well cared for and is friendly, (or would be given the chance) but I hate to think how dangerous it will be in a few months time.
Friends have tried telling him he's doing wrong by the dog but he doesn't care! I tried and got a load of personal abuse thrown at me!
