I admit, there are times I have lied to my husband about petty little things, and I mean little things, nothing like large purchases or my where abouts etc. I know the consequences, but I still feel compelled to lie sometimes. Why is that?? Why would a married woman feel compelled to lie even a little to her husband? Could it be that we're trying to keep ourselves from being scolded like a small child, even if it means lying? Is it something that men use as control?? Any answers would be helpful, since I have a friend going thru this and I couldn't honestly give an answer, since I didn't know either. Thanx!

You'll never guess who my lender is: Countrywide! There's wide speculation that they will be bankrupt soon. Hey, maybe I should offer to loan them some money--at about double the interest rate they're charging me. Yeah, I'm sure they'd go for that.

You can answer if your kid or someone in your family or a best friend had it done. My daughter needs it for her upper jaw. Please include how much pain was involved and if you had to only eat certain foods etc. Also, how did you keep the thing clean?

I will do what she needs, but I want to make sure she is comfortable. She is almost 7 and needs it done soon.

During the Apollo 11 flight to the moon Buzz Aldrin claimed that he and Niel Armstrong had seen a strange UFO alongside their capsule.

It appears to me that for some time, perhaps since the 70's, Buzz has been making this claim that they had seen a UFO that they could not explain, but only recently in 2007 is he now saying that they were 99.9% sure it was just a panel from their own equipment. Am I right in this assumption?

I have a family member who is about to graduate from college with excellent grades, proven athletic ability, and an aptitude for music. His neighborhood is very close to Dulles Airport, where on 9/11 highjackers commandeered a plane and tried to hit the Pentagon. He was deeply affected.
I’ve been asked if joining the military and serving in combat would the best thing he could do for the country. His great uncle served as an Engineer deactivating Rommel’s mines on Omaha Beach shortly before the full invasion began. We’re all proud of our uncle.
However, I heard Vice President Cheney say that the reason he did not serve in combat in Vietnam was the he had ‘more important things to do.’ However Mr. Cheney hasn’t said what those things are.
I’m hoping somebody can tell me what Cheney did that was more important than combat service. I would like to be able to give my family member a solid answer. And if what Cheney did was better than servicing, I could suggest the same course.

I have a 91 Blue Ford Taurus and I wanted to fix up the paint job. It had lots of scratches so I compounded them out and used a paste wax (which was hell and I never want to use again) (all Turtlewax products). A week later it looks like the wax is gone and the scratches from the compound are horrible!! -fine swirls all over.

So, 1.Is there a finer compound I should use or does it just need a new clear coat?
and 2. Is there a wax (not a paste wax) that is fairly easy to apply and lasts longer than a week??

I can't afford a new car so I am trying to make the best of what I have. Any help is greatly appreciated! ; )

Jack was going to be married to Jill, so his father sat him down for a little fireside chat.....

He said "Jack, let me tell you something. On my wedding night in our honeymoon suite, I took off my pants and handed them to your mother, and said, 'Here, try these on.'

"So, she did and said, 'These are too big, I can't wear them.'

"I replied, 'Exactly. I wear the pants in this family and I always will.'

"Ever since that night we have never had any problems."

"Hmmm, "said Jack. He thought that might be a good thing to try. So on his honeymoon, Jack took off his pants and said to Jill, "Here try these on."

So she did and said, "These are too large, they don't fit me."

Jack said, "Exactly. I wear the pants in this family and I always will, and I don't want you to ever forget that."

Then Jill took off her pants and handed them to Jack and said, "Here, you try on mine."

So he did and said, "I can't get into your pants."

Jill said, "Exactly. And if you don't change your smart *** attitude, you never will."

During the school year I generally get anywhere from 5-8 hours of sleep a night, because of the extracurricular activities and advanced classes I am involved in. I wake up at about 6:20, which is cutting it close enough as it is, having to leave for school at 6:50. However I find that it is not until around noon that I am fully awake and able to participate in conversations and listen the best in class, and by the time I go to sleep I am still wide awake... I have tried drinking coffee in the morning to wake myself up but can't stand the taste or smell. Are there any other ways that I could wake up before leaving the house?

Also, yes I do eat breakfast, usually about 1.5 servings of Bran Flakes.

Does anyone know any songs that get you into a soft, thinking mood? Songs like DJ Encore - I See Right Through To You, Alice DJ - Better off Alone, Andain - Beautiful Things. And good beats sounding like Madonna - Die Another Day [I already know Can't Get You Out Of My Head, don't really like it.].

Donation ratio appears to confirm leftward tilt in newsrooms --MSNBC

"MSNBC.com identified 144 journalists who made political contributions
from 2004 through the start of the 2008 campaign, according to the
public records of the Federal Election Commission. Most of the
newsroom checkbooks leaned to the left: 125 journalists gave to
