Usually, but since there's a party for her you might want to get her a fun gift to celebrate a special birthday.

I have NEVER heard of this rule. It is ALWAYS appropriate to give a gift at a birthday party, a gift to the hostess who invites you to her home for dinner, etc.
This is a great way to honor your cousin.
Here's an idea, why not get her monogrammed note cards? Classy and useful.

I have always felt that it is a poor decision to show up at a party empy handed.
Flowers are a fine gift for a 30 year old cousin.

I never heard anything like this. You should get people you care about birthday gifts, specifically if you go to their party.

Any toys she liked when she was a kid?? I think you should buy her something for sure!You're never too old to get gifts(plus it doesn't matter if you are married and have kids!)

if you've been invited to a birthday party and you plan on attending, yes, you bring a gift, regardless of how old they are of they are married with children

its her birthday and if shes having a party then yes u should buy her a gift, its rude to come to abirthday party and not bring a gift.
