I heard on a talk radio interview with a guy who wrote a book about homosexuality being an subconscious choice that is effected by a persons childhood. not that sexual preference was actually chosen, but ended up that way due to a persons family life as a child. now i do believe that some, even though a minority, of gays can be born with a "gay trait". but one example of external factors is the absence of a father or a father whom did not give the emotional reinforcment a daughter needs as she is maturing. a mothers influence on a daughter is to teach her to be a woman when she grows up. a fathers input is to validate what she is learning from her mother by telling her she's beautiful, her dress looks nice, etc. this is just one example of many factors that could influence a persons sexual orientation when he/she grows up. i don't think that all kids who grow up in this situation will turn up gay, i'm just asking if it's feasible that environment can determine sexual orientation?
