No, it's not. Used cars are generally sold "as is", unless the seller offers some warranty at their own discretion. A used car is never assumed to be under warranty.

NO! You should however ask questions before you purchase a car or have repair work done. It's your responsibility to know what you are paying for and the dealer or garages responsibility to deliver what they promise.

There's no requirement for them to issue a warranty, but being from a garage they are legally bound to sell you something of 'merchandisable quality' which means that if it falls apart straight away you can take it back.

No it isn't, though they are required by law to ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy when sold. That's for the UK. Most would though, at least for a few months.

It may not be mandatory more likely enshrined in a local law which would specify the terms I would check with your licensing body where you live ~~

Ask them if they say NO go somewhere else there are plenty of dealers who will.
