ok i know all parents fight sometimes. but mine fight ALL THE TIME! my mom swore to me and my brother that she will never divorce. I kinda want her to tho. my dad is horrible to her and me and my brother. he makes us feel like **** all the time. he made me cry on my birthday! i know my dad has some issues that he never admits to but thats not my problem. i just want the fighting to stop! i woke up 2 days in a row to have my mom screaming and swearing at my dad because of something i dont know... one of their fights a little while ago got physical and my dad ended up having this huuuge scratch mark on his arm. i know this sounds like my dad is the victim here but he always provokes us and verbally abuses us. i just want the fighting to stop. i know my mom will never divorce my dad because she told me that if she divorced him, me and my brother would be alone with him and he would ruin our lives and she doesnt want that to happen. any advice??? PLEASE HELP??

I am two months pregnant with my second child. My first child is twenty one months old and keeps trying to hit my stomach or push his hands into it or sit on my stomach. I think cause now I am sensitive to my stomach that he picked up on that and has it out for my stomach. I am trying to stop him from doing it but every once in awhile he takes me by suprise and manages to do it. Will my unborn baby be okay?

I'm not a really good reader... The only books I've enjoyed reading were Harry Potter - so much so that I was up until 5AM 2 days ago reading the last one. I also remember sitting in classes and reading during lectures, which has not happened to me with any other book. Still, I know that I should read more, instead of sitting in front of video games or the computer... Can anyone provide me with a list of really good fantasy books, preferably in a series of more than one?

I have 7 window-boxes filled with perinneals. Lavender, lemon-balm, spearmint, aztec pearl verbena, toto black-eyed susan, and veronica. I know these are all flowers that spread and get "shrubby". I have two flowers planted in each 2-foot planter. I need to know how to winter them over. Do I simply cover them? Can I plant them in seperate buckets and put them in the basement? I want them to come back next year, but I have never planted perinneals in planters before. Help!

There is huge conflict as my husband doesn't get on with his daughter's choice of partner. At our wedding he only invited Sarah and not her partner (I didn't agree with this but had to let it go). She didn't turn up at all. Should I go to the wedding and the reception, or just the wedding. I say this because I dread places where there might be an atmosphere and there are so many tensions. Luckily my best friend and my husband's is going to the wedding but not the reception so I know I have support.

They always say how the metric system is superior because it uses units of 10 and 100 so can easily be calculated, but why does that mean the rest of us should use it? After all, our clock is divided into 12 hours (just like the foot), a circle has 360 degrees which divides evenly by 12 but not by 100, and it is so well embedded into our culture.

So then what about significant figures...where you can only use the number of digits you start with? If you have 5, divide by 2, you have 2.5 but have to round up to 3 because of significant figures. So then you want to get back to where you were, you multiply that result by 2 and you get 6. So 5 and 6 are essentially the same thing, in a scientists mind, by that rationale. I mean, I understand you can't say that you are able to divide 5 by 2 and get 2.50000000 exactly, but let's use a little common sense here people! Anyone else feel the same way?
