My husband is trying to adopt my daughter. Her biological father (my ex) has already relinquished his rights. But we are in the US and my daughter is in India. We are being told by the social worker that my daughter has to be present in the US for the adoption to be granted. We are unable to get a tourist visa for her because the consulate fears that she will be immigrating to the US (which is true). My husband being a US citizen could apply for her Green card if he could adopt her. But we have to have her here in order for that to happen. Is there any way to get out of this "catch 22" situation?

Is there a middle ground on this issue? I can understand that we live in a progressive era, and I can certainly understand that we want all people to be treated equally under the law. However, at the same time I do want to live far away from child molesters, strip clubs, and places where prostitution takes place. I also really don't want to have to explain what a drag queen or a transsexual is to my child until they are grown-up enough to understand. I'm not even sure I understand.

I admit that I just don't get it, and maybe it's a failing. I am not motivated by hatred, nor do I wish to enforce my views on the entire world, but would it be wrong for me and others like me to simply live in communities which have decency laws, and those who are more accepting of every kind of behavior to live in more liberal communities?

Perhaps we could tolerate other points of view if they weren't forced on us. How about letting states decide these things so that all viewpoints are welcome?

For me, the "virtuous" answer is, "Of course I would! It would make the world better place and I would just be satisfied knowing that, and if it had problems, I could get somefeed back from others." However, the "honest" answer is, " I would be very reluctant to reveal that information because other dishonest people might steal it, twist it, and capitalize on it. Afterall, YAnswers is not exactly the copyright office."
What would you do?

The Holy Bible says that if a third testament is written then it is not the word of Jesus or God but from the devil correct? If so, then why do Mormons say their book is the third book and read both the Holy Bible and their book, dismissing what the Holy bible says about that?
If you know please answer, thank you.

POTUS G W said recently ".. Osama bin Laden. He's proclaimed that the "third world war is raging in Iraq." Osama bin Laden says, "The war is for you or for us to win. If we win it, it means your defeat and disgrace forever." I say that there will be a big defeat in Iraq and it will be the defeat of al Qaeda. "

"Today I will consider the arguments of those who say that al Qaeda and al Qaeda in Iraq are separate entities. I will explain why they are both part of the same terrorist network — and why they are dangerous to our country. "

"A good place to start is with some basic facts: Al Qaeda in Iraq was founded by a Jordanian terrorist, not an Iraqi. His name was Abu Musab al Zarqawi. Before 9/11, he ran a terrorist camp in Afghanistan. He was not yet a member of al Qaida, but our intelligence community reports that he had longstanding relations with senior al Qaida leaders, that he had met with Osama bin Laden and his chief deputy, Zawahiri." (GW Bush 24 Jul 2007)
