Absolutely. Satans greatest power is to decieve. Not only has he deceived the non-believers you see posting insults here, he also decieves beleivers into thinking he is not a danger. I would say the VAST majority of Christians underestimate Satan

I believe Satan, the devil exists. Many people claiming Christianity (and I'm not here saying they are wrong), do not believe in a personal Satan.

As Christians, we should never, EVER use as an excuse, "The devil made me do it," because the devil has no power over Christians we don't give him. God lives inside us (the Holy Spirit) giving us Jesus' resurrection power to defeat Satan -- actually He does it through us. Satan, though evil, is not an evil 'god' -- my God is more powerful than He is.

But, neither should Satan be taken too lightly (as I said, many don't even believe he's real). You asked if Christians underestimate him -- yes, I think some do. I think Christians go to two extremes: some say he doesn't exist, others believe he's the cause of everything and grant him evil "god" hood, and don't give enough heed to sinful flesh. Some get the balance right, though. We are supposed to resist him, and flee from him, realizing that he can be very cunning, but remember that God is more powerful and can handle him, if we turn him over to God.

Yes, I believe that many Christians underestimate the power of Satan because they forget how powerful and deceitful he can be. If he can fool even the angels by transforming into an angel of light- think how easily we can be fooled as well - but we do have God and His Word as well as His angels on our side in the fight against Satan, which gives us an edge in the battle against Satan's forces.

I saw the Devil get struck by a Angelic dart in the side by a Angel of the Lord Jesus Christ. I never saw the Angel but Satan did and he recognized him and took of like a rocketship due east. This is a true story. After this happend he came around a couple more times that I was aware of anyway and when he did he was very careful. He nose his time is short and he is decieving as many as he can and is doing a good job. It is a powerful delusion and many have fallen into it for exceptance power and etc,,,Satans Secret Society 666. These people are held in bondage by witchcraft through dabling in occult practices and games.

Some do but those are the one's focusing on the
wrong idea.... Bible says to fear God but it also says
the devil is a roaring lion so yes don't think satan has
no power, but if your worrying about satan how can
you focus on God's true power and blessings.... bible
says that all power under heaven and earth was given
by God so satan couldn't do squat without God....
He just chose to use his power that God gave him
for evil purposes and God let him because he made
all creation with a free will .....so don't fear satan he can't do
anything that God can't turn around... just be aware
of him and put on the full armor of God then you will
be able to thwart off his attacks not worry about how
much power he has or what he's going to do to you....

Are you a monotheist or not? Either you believe in one almighty god, or you don't. If you believe that there is an entity that has rebelled against god, and is free to commit whatever evil he wishes upon the human race, then for all practical purposes you believe in a dark god. You may strenuously deny that, but if that is your belief then any argument is simply over semantics.

If however you believe in one all powerful god, then anything that the devil does must by definition be with his permission and approval. Otherwise, you are just reciting Christian mythology rather than theology.

Most of you are a bunch of polytheists in monotheist clothing.

Yes I do, unless they have been faithful followers of God, then they sooner or later catch the devil trying to divert or trick them.
God's Strength is always stronger, but need to use at least the sign of the cross and if able to speak, command the negative force to go, not by your own power but by the power of Jesus, God, The Holy Spirit of God all have the power to rebuke the devil.

Well it is not good to underestimate the power of the Devil, for Satan is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Hey wait that means that he cant devour some, and from what I saw once on Animal Planet the lions that are old and toothless are the ones that roar, which scares the animals who then run into the waiting younger lions that tear them apart. So if Satan is like a roaring lion it is because Jesus pulled his teeth. Instead of focusing on the power of Satan it is time to focus on the awesome power of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe that the Devil has power, however "GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN YOU, THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD"
Granted we can never underestimate Satan, or then he will begin to have the upper hand. But the ALL-powerful God is far greater- and I always remember this, when Satan tries to get to you, look at Jesus and remind Satan of his future. God is all powerful- Satan isn't. It is the ALL that makes the difference!!

Since our battle against him is a spiritual battle, many Christians are just ignorant to our means in which we fight him. I have cast demons out of people and it is not pretty. The demonic realm has power but I know that the love of God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ scares the he** even out of demons. No fear! Peace be with you.
