first of all no one can convert anyone. I am a Christian who loves the Lord and was saved. I just want others to know Jesus too. I am a sinner , just like everyone else in the world- I accepted Christ as my Savior, and the reason I share the love of Christ, is because I want others to know Him too. When I share the gospel, I am not pointing fingers, I am sharing what Christ did for me, and what He can do for you. It you choose not to be a Christian that is completely your choice- God gives you the choice, too. If you really looked at what we are trying to say, you would realize that it is out of love we share. Sorry if there are some "Christians" who are legalistic in their approach to God, because believe me Christianity is not a bunch of laws, but a relationship with God. Pure and simple!

The word is "convert," not "convict." Some of you can't seem to understand the difference. The implication that anyone who is not Christian is a criminal, a pervert, is totally twisted. The idea that only Christians go to heaven is ridiculous, as is the idea that your mythical god only loves people of a certain religion. And you wonder why people call some of you narrow-minded?

I never try to convert people.
And since when did Christians preach "acceptance"?

Only the Holy Spirit can convert someone. Christians just spread the Word.

Because without new converts, religiosity dies. Now, I'm not bashing Christians, this is for all religions. If no body new believes what you believe, the the religion's population eventually grows old and dies off.

Because like every other religion, they are extremely hypocritical.

The only people they really believe in loving and accepting is people like them.

two answers.

the nice answer -- it's like helping fellow people onto a lifeboat when th' ship is sinking. th'christians are simply trying to keep people from "drowning".

the sad truth answer -- they see other ideas as a threat to their own dominion..
