The Truth

At school, a boy is told by a classmate that most adults are hiding at least one dark secret, and that this makes it very easy to blackmail them by saying, “I know the whole truth” -- even when you don't know anything.
The boy decides to go home and try it out. As he is greeted by his mother at the front door he says, “I know the whole truth.” His mother quickly hands him $20 and says, “Just don't tell your father.”

Quite pleased, the boy waits for his father to get home from work, and greets him with, “I know the whole truth.” The father promptly hands him $40 and says, “Please don't say a word to your mother.”

Very pleased, the boy is on his way to school the next day, when he sees the mailman at his front door. The boy greets him by saying, “I know the whole truth.” The mailman drops the mail, opens his arms and says, “Then come give your FATHER a big hug.”

Is it because there can be no other God? After all, it is only a name, it's not a true "God." Is it right or wrong?

Pretty much out of the blue a few weeks ago I started feeling guilty about everything I do. I feel guilty about being myself and it's driving me crazy. Sometimes I think everything would be better if I were dead, but I don't have the guts to commit suicide.

final destination

amidst the uncomfortable chapter of her existence
curled up in one corner,
hearing eerie whispers of utmost silence
her fragile heart clasped within tight fists
ready to shatter any time from now.
still awake in the wee hours of dawn.
waiting patiently....
for nothing...
she shivers upon hearing his name
not of fear,
but by the coldness it brings.....
1.. 2.. 3..
she sat....
..4.. 5.. 6..
..thought..
..7.. 8..
..and prayed..

I suspect there is something legitimately wrong with this individual, although I do not know clinically what to call it. Bipolar perhaps, or manic-depressive. This individual is a single, older woman. Emotional states vary between euphoric & miserable. Very demeaning & insulting, either directly, but mostly in a thinly veiled fashion. Grandstands & creates unnecessary dilemmas/scenes, especially when she knows others are within earshot. Sneaky & will rifle staff's offices when they're out sick/on vacation, logon to their pc's, read their email, redial #s on their phones. Fawns over higher ups & blatantly kisses the asses of those in other departments, but will insult same individuals behind their back. Constantly creates a tension-filled environment for subordinates.
At this pt I find it hard to look directly at her, even in conversation. I'm that disgusted, & I know I will ultimately have to quit, but I hate doing nothing about this. This kind of behavior should not be allowed.

The school my roommate went to had a Vet Tech program where it would find injured animals, have the the students in the program, in lack of a better term, fix them up, then find homes for them. Well, she got this cat that had apparently been hit by a car. It's "fine" now, but it acts so strangely.

She'll meow at you like she wants something, but as soon as you come near or lean down to pet her she'll dart off. I've actually spent twenty minutes crouched down waiting for her to come to me. When she finally did, I got to pet her for a few seconds then she darted off.

Well, my roommate moved out and left me the cat and I'd like to be able to play with her and treat her like the other cats. So, does anyone have any tips on getting her to trust me, or at the very least stop acting so afraid? Or is she going to be acting like this permanently?

5 days ago, I got a 2 year old British Blue girl - I've called her Burberry. Anyway, since I got her home, I opened the cage and let her come out on her own, and have kept her in my bedroom only. She has been hiding behind the chair, under the bed, and behind the tv cabinet so far, but I'm starting to worry that it's too long for her to still be hiding away.

I've read a lot that says older cats have more trouble adjusting, but I'm just putting it out there incase there's anything more I can do to help her settle in. She isn't interested in any catnip toys or regular toys. She has been eating but not when I'm in the room. I've been giving her wet food on a dish and placing it just under the bed, this is the 4th night and as far as I can tell she is only eating the dry food so far.

She also meows during the night, which wakes me up so I talk to her etc (while half asleep!), and have a look under the bed at her, but still nothing.

Any suggestions? Thanks :)
