My father had a medical incident three years ago and has been hospitalized in a coma like symptom since then. Before his incident, he owes a lot of money to his credit cards. We've gotten a lot of letters and phone calls from his credit cards, collections agencies, and lawyers over the years to settle the debts. We did nothing but to ignore them over the years. But lately, one of the collection agencies/lawyer decided to bring my father to court and threatening to take all his asset if he doesn't respond. Reality is he's not able to respond to it. Their threat of taking his asset is not much of a threat either because none of our assets are under my father's name,except a joint bank account with my mother, which is not much.

My question are:
None of those debts have my mother's name in it. Can they legally go after my mother if we continue to ignore them? (We live in NJ and NY)

How can we get them off our back?

Guys are so easy to deal with. Ask a straight question, get a straight answer. (exceptions of course but they are rare). However when you ask a women a question like "what do you want for christmas?" they say they don;t want anything big etc but if you actually get them something small they are disappointed? That is just one scenario. Why do girls read so much in to WHY we ask certain questions or WHY we do certian things. Guys don't do this ulterior motives and social examination thing. Why do women make such simple situations so complex?

I have a 15 almost 16 year old son who has a father that lives in California... I live in North Carolina. His father called last night to ask to have a 2 week visitation with my son, and his half sister, (who is visiting us, her mother also has custody). Now, I don't want to keep him from visiting his son or daughter, but, he had a terrible drinking problem when I was married to him in '92, and was ordered to go to AA meetings (this order is withdrawn). Can I go to court for some kind of order requiring he be tested for alcohol during the period our children are with him? Is there a test that can detect alcohol in his system if it was a day or two before?
We had a 15 year custody battle, and it scares me that he called me of all people drunk. He told my son he has his blessing to steal a boat and go joy riding... called me (myname) -baby, which is like Hitler calling Churchill "Winnie". Most frightening that his judgement has slipped this badly. What next?

I am having my period sometime this week, however i'm also going on vacation with my friend and her family! i've never used a tampon before and i try. but it seems like idn the tampon just wont go in. when i push it, it wont go in. i've tried it at least 20 times so i can get used to a tampon and i dont want to not swim on vacation! im really upset so please will someone tell me why tampons just dont go in for me?! its like idn. it just wont go in. i need help.
