What is the appropriate attire for a viewing and funeral?

My live-in boyfriend's 28 year old sister recently passed away throughout the night from leukemia. She was such a sweet girl. The viewing and funeral are coming around, and I've never been to any funeral before. I haven't experienced losing someone close yet. What is appropriate attire for these happenings? I don't want to offend the family and wear the wrong this. Is it true that I should wear black?

Why don't Brits have morals?

As an American mover and shaker in the business world, I feel I must ask this.

I was leaving my corporate headquarters in Los Angeles when I saw a Brit I recognized. Unfortunately, this Brit worked for a company with whom we recently had to unfortunately cancel a rather large contract due to his malfeasance. He was drunk, and was loitering outside my building, asking people to take his business card.

I called security to take care of this little pissant. My VP for finance and I were heading to a contract negotiation. I got in one side of the limo, she in another. As we got into the limo, the Brit wailed at us, "Ey Mate, you should open the taxi door for your wife."

Poor drunken sot, is there any hope for such people who choose to destroy their own lives?

Polymerization of Triglycerides?

Fats and oils are commonly made up of triglycerides. When subjected to frying (i.e. at approx 200 degrees celsius), these triglycerides tend to polymerize. Suggest the mechanisms in which they could polymerize.

Dosn't the USA deserve better than being dominated by fundamentalist christians?

I ask this as someone from outside the USA who is well aware of the pilgrims fleeing persecution, and also a shining light of tolerance that the was the inspiration for the American constitution. The American dream of the individual's right to succeed, whatever his background, has been inspirational to the rest of the world for centuries. Whether it was real or an illussion, I believe the intent of those who wrote it was genuine.

But it seems the religious right have hijacked the American dream.

Fundamentalist christianity has now turned the USA into a tragedy and klaughing stock in the eyes of the rest of the world.

Can the American dream be rescued from the clutches of the religious right?

I recognise this question is related to both politics and religion, so I will post it in both catergories.

If god is good why do we go to hell?

God is the all seeing,all knowing superior being,n people talk about his forgivness so why then do people go to hell?why does'nt he forgive those who have strayed of his path?your meant to love thy neighbour n look after your family by teaching them right from wrong so why then did he kick his son lucifer out of heaven huh if you kicked your child out n disowned them would peolpe worship you for that? i think not,apparently if you pray to god n ask his forgivness he will forgive you...if thats the case then when eve ate the forbidden apple why didnt he ask her to repent and give her a 2nd chance(like the 2nd chance we get if us mere mortals go to church)nope god thought scrap that,adam and eve can go live a life of hardship and there children and childrens'children can suffer too,and if you don't believe him then you n your inocent children can drown and die while his fans sorry followers can get on a ark and live on,sounds like he'd get on well with some of todays world leaders!

Cringing everytime i have a bad memory?

Sometimes i remember stupid things i did in the past and i get so disturbed by it i cringe and feel compelled to physically distract myself by muttering to myself or jerking suddenly to one side or smirking, groaning etc. Obviously i end up looking really weird, which i think about even more. It's a vicious cycle. I've tried writing these memories down, and it does help, but they still happen and it really affects me. Has anyone had similar experiences? How do you deal with the problem?

What is Boost?

So boost is measured by how much the air is compressed because when the volume decreases the pressure increases and if you increase the volume of air and compress it you have a higher boost pressure? Or is boost pressure how hard the turbo is working to pump the air? I read that on a website? Is this correct? How can you be producing more boost when at lower air masses than at higher air masses? Example 9psi@30lb/min 20psi@20lb/min How is this possible? Is it becaus eof turbine shape, design, weight, material do all those factors come in play? When there is more pounds of air flowing wouldnt there be more boost because more air is flowing so more air is being compressed? Or does it depend on volume rather than pounds? Can you please explain this to me in detail?

Why, not put metal in the toaster?

I have just got some Ciabatta bread stuck in the toaster and had to get it out with a wooden spoon, Is it true that you cant use metal in them? or just an old wives tale? would I get an electric shock or would the metal impliment transfer heat to my hand and burn me? why why why?
