I don't see how terrorist attacks will stop until they achieve their pipe dream? or without some very major world war? even then the idealogy can't be eliminated no matter what we do.

I currently make around $50K but I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, so that isn't that much due to the high cost of living. I love painting and have decided to start a side business selling my work.

I plan on making between $5k - $20K this year from the business. How much am I going to have to pay in taxes on this additional income? I am not married. From the research I have done, is this info accurate?

Federal Tax = 25%
California State = 9.3%
Self Imployment Tax = 15.3%
Sales Tax = 8.25%

Total = 57.85% (not including insurance for business, extra licensing, permits to sell work, and the ton of other business expenses)

This is starting to scare me and I am wondering how anyone can ever make a profit? Please help...maybe I won't go into business, it isn't worth my time to only pocket 10% - 20% profit. I don't want to be making less than minimum wage with the skills I have!

I have a really awesome idea for a birthday present. I want to make a notebook with a cover that looks like the front of an acoustic guitar with the strings on it and a hole in the center of the front cover..etc.

I just need to know how to make a notebook quickly and easily. I don't have time to order special supplies online, I don't know how to bind a book. I just know what I want on the cover. Help please!

I have a Pre-Calculus and Trigonometry final coming up and I need some brushing up on a few concepts that I'm not completely solid on. There are quite a few, but any help is greatly appreciated.

1) Tricky exponential equations where the bases are different and the exponential variable is raised to a power.

I.E. 3^x^3=6^(x+5)

2) Radian word problems where the goal is to convert radians to measurement and then back to radians, given the radii of two circles and the radians turned by one.

I.E. If a pulley of 10-cm radius and a pulley of 14-cm are connected by a rope and the larger pulley turns 6 radians, how many radians with the smaller pulley turn?

3) I need to brush up on finding the answers to trigonometry functions without a calculator since the Final does not allow one.

I.E. sin^-1(2/3)

4) Radical equations with variables in uncombinable roots. I cannot give an example since I can't represent square roots with text.

I don't judge anyone or their lifestyle. If a person wishes to profit from their own then why not? All I could think of was that the government wouldn't be able to tax it. I would like to know the solid reason behind why prostitution was made illegal. Prostitution has been around since the beginning of time along with sexually transmitted diseases( which I don't understant why this even comes up in the prostitution argument). So why? Why limit someone's life? Pornography is legal... probably because the government is seeing some of the profits. If the government wishes to end prostitution then the first step is to end pornagraphy(again which I have nothing against). It leads to prostitution. A person sees this and that it's a way to profit very well then they will start the first place they can.. clubs, the streets, their own backyard, etc. I'm just looking for a solid reason that's all. All information is welcome!

I really want a pet gardener snake (garter snake) because they are the only snakes you don't have to feed mice.
The only problem is that I live in Washington and since they are native here the pet stores won't sell them.

He calmly told them, "I bought it today."

"With what money?" demanded his parents. "We know what a Porsche costs."

"Well," said the boy, "this one cost me fifteen dollars."

So the parents began to yell even louder. "Who would sell a car like that for fifteen dollars?" they said.

"It was the lady up the street," said the boy. "I don't know her name; they just moved in. She saw me ride past on my bike and asked me if I wanted to buy a Porsche for fifteen dollars."
"Oh my Goodness," moaned the mother, "she must be a child abuser. Who knows what she will do next? John, you go right up there and see what's going on."

So the boy's father walked up the street to the house where the lady lived and found her out in the yard calmly planting petunias! He introduced himself as the father of the boy to whom she had sold a Porsche to for fifteen dollars, and demanded to know why she did it.

"Well," she said, "this morning I got a phone call from my husband. I thought he was on a business trip, but learned from a friend he ran off to Hawaii with his secretary and doesn't intend to come back.
He claimed he was stranded and told me to sell his new Porsche and then send him the money.

So I did."

My daughter unfortunately fell in love with what we thought was a nice young man. They became engaged, then the real monster came out. Kept track of every second of her time. Made false accusations of cheating, would not let her see old friends, even females. Then the beating started. He smacked her around because he found a matchbook on the floor. We went to police and fled a report. He threatened her and she lied and said it never happened. He beats her up again on her birthday and rapes her. She gets a PFA. He breaks into the house and beats her again. To the hospital by ambulance this time. Concussion, impaired vision and broken tooth. Yesterday he tried to run her off the road. Wha are the police waiting for!!!!!!! They pick him p and release him no bail. Are they waiting for him to kill her? What do we have to do to get some action?
