Al-Qaeda's wish list is
Removal of foreign influence in muslim countries
Relocation/destruction of Israel
Revenge for Palestine, Chechnya, Kashmir,Iraq and lebanon attacks by killing random westerners.
Death of Infidels etc
I don't see how terrorist attacks will stop until they achieve their pipe dream? or without some very major world war? even then the idealogy can't be eliminated no matter what we do.

Al Qaeda will never achieve all their goals. Hypothetically if they did they would just add even more extreme goals to their list.
However, if we look back far enough in history, we see governments and cultures that seem as though they will last forever eventually flame out or just fade away. Some die off, the rest fade back into a calmer society. I think as long as the coalition doesn't give in and pull out, eventually more moderate muslims will get sick of Al Qaeda and it will just fizzle out.

Nazi Germany
British Imperialism
The Inquisition
Roman domination
etc. etc.

The only way it will completely end is when there isn't anyone left breathing. World War 3 is just around the corner. Our soldiers are sent away with a coffin waiting. The war in the middle east will never end. Forcing soldiers to act as Bush's
toy soldiers will only amout to what the terrorists want. What makes it even more pathetic is soldiers killing themselves for
the terrorists. Remove Bush from office, get someone who doesn't jump up and down to get daddy's attention and this country just might stand a chance.

You're right. This problem is not ging away any time soon. Larger world issues are looming though (no not global warming) such as the possiblity of a pandemic sometime in the near future. That might put terrorism on the back burner.

It's been going on since the time of Abraham, but its end is certain. It's going to end in a very bloody battle in Israel at a place called Mount Megiddo (Tel Megiddo in Hebrew) which overlooks the Jezreel Valley. It will end here, and not a minute before.
