A man buys several sheep, hoping to breed them for wool. After several weeks, he notices that none of the sheep are getting pregnant, and calls a veterinarian for help. The vet tells him that he should try artificial insemination.

The guy doesn't have the slightest idea what this means but, not wanting to display his ignorance, only asks the vet how he will know when the sheep are pregnant. The vet tells him that they will stop standing around and will instead lay down and wallow in the grass when they are pregnant.

The man hangs up and gives it some thought. He comes to the conclusion that artificial insemination means HE has to impregnate the sheep. So, he loads the sheep into his truck, drives them out into the woods, has sex with them all, brings them back and goes to bed.

Next morning, he wakes and looks out at the sheep. Seeing that they are all still standing around, he concludes that the first try didn't take, and loads them in the truck again.

He drives them out to the woods, bangs each sheep twice for good measure, brings them back and goes to bed. The next morning he wakes to find the sheep still just standing around.

One more try, he tells himself, and proceeds to load them up and drive them out to the woods. He spends all day shagging the sheep and, upon returning home, falls listlessly into bed.

The next morning, he cannot even raise himself from the bed to look at the sheep. He asks his wife to look out and tell him if the sheep are laying in the grass.

"No," she says, "they're all in the truck and one of them is honking the horn."

I have been raising my 4 yr. old nephew for a year now on July 4. My S-I-L has really made no attempt to see him or even be in his life.
She left her husband (who she's preggers by) for a controlling woman who runs her life. She has moved back to our home town and has been here for about a month and a half. She has attempted to see him once...and has called 4 times.
She arrived at our home at 12:30am to "retrieve" her son who was sleeping. I calmly told her that she cannot take care of her son...she can't even take care of her daughter (8 yrs) and hasn't seen her since she was 2 yrs old.
Did I mention the fact that she has been in jail more this year than she has been out? We also had to drive to Missouri to pick up my nephew because she was in jail and the chick she was with didn't want him. He would have ended up in foster care. Now... I have to tell you that the chick that didn't want him doesn't have her own kids either because her brother sexually abused them. HELP!

I was discussing the drought that we have been having with some co-workers and one seems to think that there is a drought every 7 years and it is a completely natural occurance, while the other argued that the drought and climate conditions are caused by the way we are treating the atmosphere and environment. So what is it? Is it cause by both? Are the conditions we are experiencing a natural phenomenon or the result of human interference or a combination of the two making the result worse than it would be if there was no human interference? Thanks for the help.

Their idea of role models are celebrity's and entertainers.

Many are holding their breath for Paris Hilton to make changes like she claim she would. And they look to celebrities for trends in politics (Rosie O'Donnell), Fashion, and economics.

Where are the Americans who think Hollywood and these joke "role models" are just fun to look at, but when you shut off your television you get back to your lives?

I'm curious about this and would like to start a serious, non-emotional discussion about why you think so few women are in science. Here's one of my theories:

As a science and math guy in high school, I was squarely in the 'nerd' category, which brings on some level of social alienation. I basically accepted my lot and made friends with mostly other nerds, but even some 'cool' kids as well, who accepted I was a 'nerd'.

I think that girls are more vested in the social aspects of high school, and fear alienation more than boys do. This may cause some girls to avoid math and science and the mild social consequences that comes with it. Just a theory I'm putting out there.

Any thoughtful opinions are welcome, even controversial ones.

Please, no highly emotional, knee jerk responses.

Two women were playing golf. One teed off and watched in horror as her ball headed directly toward a foursome of men playing the next hole.

The ball hit one of the men and he immediately clasped his hands together at his groin, fell to the ground and proceeded to roll around in agony.

The woman rushed down to the man, and immediately began to apologize.
"Please allow me to help. I'm a physiotherapist and I know I could relieve your pain if you'd allow me," she told him.

"Oh, no, I'll be all right. I'll be fine in a few minutes," the man replied.

He was in obvious agony, lying in the fetal position, still clasping his hands together at his groin.

At her persistence, however, he finally allowed her to help. She gently took his hands away and laid them to the side, loosened his pants and put her hands inside. She administered tender and artful massage for several long moments then asked...
"How does that feel?"

He replied, "It feels great, but my thumb still hurts!"

Having grown up a catholic, I've experienced this first hand.

It took many years of peeling back the layers of the onion before I could finally view existence free from the pressure of religious dogma.

Once catholism and organised religion were discarded, the yoke of christianity itself was a burden to seeing a clear picture.

When I realised there was no evidence for Jesus existing at all, and certainly no sense to concept of him being the son of god, I then had to deal with the whole creator bit.

I studied many different faiths looking for something that made sense.

After a few years as an agnostic with pantheist style ideas, it suddenly dawned on me that it was ALL nonsense.

No soul, no afterlife, no supreme entity of any sort.

The barriers were finally all gone!

None of them had ever made sense, yet they were so hard to remove.

The sense of freedom was just magnificent..........and still is.

Do theists have any idea what they're missing?

There is a recent, very extensive second hand smoke study and it clearly states "That there is no evidence that second hand smoke harms ANYONE" They do not release that information to the public because of the government agenda to control the population!! It is all a lie they are promoting to hide the real truth. Toxic chemicals in our food and water!! This is the real truth!!
