I'm not trying to stir up controversy, or bash or anything like that. It's an honest question.
My Dad's side of the family is Church of Christ, but I don't feel comfortable asking them about it, so I'm asking you.
When did your church/denomination come into existance? Who founded it?
I'm a Mormon convert, and early on in my conversion I heard someone mention once that an early member of our church was excommunicated and later formed your church. But since I only ever heard this once, I don't know if it's true or not. There does seem to be some similarities between our two faiths, and I was just wondering. The person that told me this was just a member and trying to give me some history on our church. Nothing disparaging was mentioned about your church, but it's stuck with me all this time because of my family who are devout Church of Christ members. The man's name who I was told left our church and formed yours was Sidney Rigdon, and it would have been in the middle of the 1800's.

I have a fear of rising flood waters, I don't know where it came from, probably my childhood. I cannot imagine what these people are going through. I have tried to visualise 3 ft of water in my living room and it terrifies me. I would love to help them but don't know how.

Do you start off by saying "For me"? Or do you assume that your way of thinking is right for you and therefor right for everyone?

"Some 45% of all Republicans report being very happy, compared with just 30% of Democrats and 29% of independents. This finding has also been around a long time; Republicans have been happier than Democrats every year since the General Social Survey began taking its measurements in 1972.

Since 1972, the GOP happiness edge over Democrats has ebbed and flowed in a pattern that appears unrelated to which party is in political power.

For example, Republicans had up to a 10 and 11 percentage point happiness edge over Democrats in various years of both the Carter and Clinton presidencies."

Is she in fact some kind of pop culture figure in the UK? I'm from the US and I've never heard of her. This was the one joke that I didn't really get.

I have so many but my kids love chicken and waffles:

Boil down a chicken, then pull off the meat and add it back to the water. Cook along with 6 bouillion cubes. Use milk and cornstarch...mixed together in a cup before adding to the broth to thicken. Add a little sugar to taste. Consistency should be like gravy. Add pepper to taste. Serve over homemade waffles. YUM

I have never been a fan of wrestling but they recently said someone important passed away on CNN in what was believed to be an on-air murder believed to be done by an obsessed wrestling fan who wasn't allowed in the arena. That's why I don't watch that wrestling stuff. How many people has it killed now? Apparently the man was in the middle of a storyline in which he was supposed to be depressed and leaving the arena with everyone confused, but that didn't happen. What's even worse is that CNN just said it was on the guy who died's contract to make his death a storyline whenever it happened and now that is what their doing. wrestling is so ridiculous!

I love where I live but it is year-round tourist central, there are no quiet days and everything is always crowded with people who generally haven't got a clue. It's alright during the year as I'm holed up in the office anyways but the next two months are going to be ten times worse, no matter if it's shops or musea or parks, everything is chock-full of tourists.
How do I enjoy my otherwise great city or do I move to outer-Mongolia?

When playing poker, it's often tempting to stick around either to get back the money you lost or to keep going when you're on a roll. How do you know when it's time to stand up and cash in your chips or call it a day? How long should you stay at a table if you're losing? If you're winning?
