At the moment we're looking into buying some property in France in the village of St. Croix, near Villefranche de Rouergue. There is a large barn(which we would renovate into a house) and quite a bit of surrounding garden and the price is very reasonable. I'd just like to know of other peoples experience of buying houses(or preferably old buildings and renovating them) in France. We already have someone who is an architect and would like to take on the project so thats something we don't have to worry about. What kind of questions should we be asking,or what things should we be doing? We're in good contact with the person who is selling and have visited the property several times. We live in Ireland for most of the year,so one of the things would be how to manage the property while we weren't living in it. Any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I mean, I've seen people that seem to hate it like the devil.
I myself have tried to tell people that some activity or action is a sin or is sinful and my goodness, you'd think I slapped them with a dead fish or somethin'.
I don't try to force people to do anything; I just try to help people see the Truth. if they don't want to hear it. That's fine with me.

I messed up my credit as a kid, and it's taken me years to rebuild, but now I'm getting phone calls from people who barely speak English and have only a 1-800 # and a PO Box, wanting to "collect on a debt" that's over 6-7 years old and this is the first time anyone was able to get a hold of me ~ obviously, a scam...but what are my options for making them go away? I've called the BBB on one company - turns out they've already had 15+ complaints brought against them, and their rating is so low they don't even care about the Better Business Bureau. They call daily, nighly, on weekends & holidays, usually leaving recorded messages...Do I have any protection under law without pursuing litigation or changing my phone number?

I own some land on which I have a shop there is a drive way which comes with the land which I have been using for over 15 years to enter my property. New owners (home developers) have brought the adjacent land and have stated that they own this drive way (on the land register it comes under their property) and will build on it. We have not registered the land but are the only one who can access the drive way as we lock and open the gates. It was from our understanding when we brought the property that the drive way came with our land.

What are my rights?

One of my best friends is getting married. We've kept in touch over the years and she's back home and getting married. My ex best friend who I haven't talked to in a few years got married 2 years ago and will also be there. I'm the only one left out of our little group who is single with no prospects in sight. Everyone has become reconnected and they all seem "closer" than ever. It will be family and everyone else is coupled up. I am happy for them but don't want to be "singled" out because of my "singledom".

Is it even worth my time to go all alone? There's no chance of the situation changing before then. I was only invited because I ran into her at her job and she felt obligated to invite me, the wedding is less than 2 weeks away. I haven't RSVP'd the invited came over the weekend. Help!!!

I have a Bissell vacuum cleaner, but I think it's just like any vacuum cleaner. I didnt notice the bag was full and of course I kept using it and it caused a clog in the hose. Does anyone know how to removed the clog? I dont know if it matters but it's mostly clogged with dog hair. I've tried taking a wire coat hanger and pusing it into the hose. I put a curve in the end but all that happened was I pulled out a straight hanger, no hair.

I know my car has a dried out engine belt. The dealer that fixes my car told me if I don't replace it soon, it will ruin my engine which of course worries me. I asked how much it would cost to replace and he said $375, with a coupon. Does this sound reasonable or am I right that I am getting ripped off?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, I want to know what type of plant this is. I don't have a picture but it has very big leaves (bigger than my head). It climbs walls or sticks to walls. It's beautiful and big, that's why I want to know what kind of plant this is. The color of the leaves are dark green.

I went on the roof to do a routine inspection, and found that there was a small hole (about 3/4 inch to an inch) going through 2 (overlapped) shingles, and I believe it went through the roof. I'm not sure of the best way to attack this. Is there some repair kit at the home depot or something that I can pick up? Thank you.

Night after night, a keen ornithologist stood in his backyard hooting like an owl. After weeks of getting no reply, he suddenly heard an owl hoot back at him. He was overjoyed at the response and for the next nine months man and bird kept up a regular dialogue of hooting. He was fascinated by his ability to relate to a wild creature and kept a thorough record of al their conversations.
Just when he was on the brink of taking his findings to the natural history society, his wife happened to be talking to a neighbor who lived four doors away.
'My husband spends his nights calling to owls,' she confided.
The neighbor said: 'that’s funny. So does mine!'
