John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
Proverbs 9:7 “ He who corrects a scoffer gets shame for himself, And he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself.
8 Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you;
Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.
9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser;
Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
10 “ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
11 For by me your days will be multiplied,
And years of life will be added to you.
12 If you are wise, you are wise for yourself,
And if you scoff, you will bear it alone.”

Who likes to look at their faults? Not many. Not even Christians. Be that called sin, insensitivity, thoughtlessness and so on. The person wants to defend themselves against it. Then, some don't think of certain behaviors as sinful. I usually say:" The Lord doesn't like what you're doing." If you tell a stranger that they are sinning, it will most likely drive them away. It's different with a close friend who knows you. The bible tells us to be loving in our approach and kind. That doesn't mean you support their behavior, but you need to pray and ask God for the right words with any particular person.

Because they Already Know what Sin is & Ur simply Talking about Sin in General, (not their Sin) cuts through the "Scar Tissue" that they have developed around their Soul & Convicts them of it Again. We are to simply give the "Good News" unless asked specifically (like here at this site) about the "Issues" which may or not deal with their "Specific Sin Issue" if they tell Us. John

People do not like to hear someone preaching to them, pure and simple.
Everyone has their own moral and religious beliefs.
The only thing you end up doing, is pushing them further away when you preach to them.
If they want to know a religous point of view, the by all means, then you say what you have to say.
But just remember, Religon is a very touchy subject.

People are just like that, for some reason. We all seem to get offended when someone else Judges our Actions as "good" or "bad" using THEIR standards, and totally disregarding the fact that we "act" by our own standards, not theirs.
If it's "Fine" with you, why the question?

Because sin is a religious word with no practical meaning.
It would be better use a rational explanation as to why a person's behavior is wrong.
Of course, even this fails with most people.
You cannot reason with people who live under the false belief that reality is subjective.

JayDee,
People don't understand that it is the sinner not the sin you are trying to help. They get offended because they know that you are right and no one want to be told they are living wrong. That's why they get so upset when it is pointed out to them.

They become convicted of their sin and guilt burns them.
John 8:9 - And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

Some people don't want to accept that what they are doing is wrong, because to them it brings happiness, pleasure,etc.
They see it as Christians judging them or trying to shove our religion down their throats.
That's all we can do, tell the Truth.
It's up to them if they believe or not

You are judging people when you do that dear. You Christians just don't get it? People do normal, everyday stuff, and you pop in and say "you shouldn't have that glass of wine with dinner, drinking is a sin!" "Oh, looking at the sexy man/woman like that is a sin." "Gambling is a sin." "Dancing is a sin." "Rock music is a sin." Blah blah blah blah.
IF YOU THINK IT IS A SIN, DON'T DO IT AND PLEASE LEAVE THE REST OF US ALONE!
