This happened about six months ago. The electricity went off in my apartment for a minute or two, then came back on. Before the electricity went off, my answering machine showed 0 messages. After the electricity went back on, my answering machine showed 2 messages????? The circuit breakers are in my apartment and all were in the on position. Today, the electricity went off for a few seconds, then came back on. What could account for the incident with the answering machine incident? How is this possible? Why wouldn't the answering machine show 0? And no one called and left messages during the time the electricity was off.

I just got a temporary positon at my mother's company. We work at different times and we have different schedules. She has a 8-5 shift. I have a 10-3 shift. The problem is my sister, who is 17, and I share a car. My sister dislikes waking up in the morning and taking me to work. However, she does it because she wants the car. Since I get off at 3, I think shw should pick me up and take me home. My sister thinks that I should take my mom's car...do whatever I want then come back to pick my mom up at 5. I don't think this is very fair. I can't do anything for myself for those 2 hours because of traffic; therefore I have to remain at work for 2 extra hours and they don't pay overtime. We can't afford to by my sister a car so we still have to shore. What do you think?

Hi Im writing a program but don't worry about the coding in you answer: lets say I drop a ball in a perfect vacuum how would you determine the following (in order of importance too):
The bounce back velocity (and how it looses energy as it travels against the force of gravity)

The energy lost to friction (theres some kinetic energy equation I was pretty sure. thank you!

Mine are:

1. Space shuttle explosion I was in 6th grade in Japan watching it on television live in my class room
2. Baby Jessica in the well I was playing cards with my niece on the living room floor
3. Princess Diana car accident I was laying in bed sick with the flu reading people magazine.
4. September 11th I was in lockdown in the middle of a typhoon in Okinawa Japan, laying in bed when my husband woke me regarding the first hit (i thought it to be a drunk pilot) woke me again on the second hit and I knew then (grabbed my bags) ready to be recalled to work. When the third plane came under attack I dropped to my knees and began to pray.

What do you remember in your life that you reflect on.

lately she has hardly been eating unless I brought her something well, Thursday she rear ended a car because she really shouldn't be driving anymore but, they get stubborn when they get old and she called me from the emergency room to come up and visit her. I went up there and it turns out she had no way to contact her son (at least this is what she said) (but later I heard her say that her son told her not to give his number out to anyone)so I sat with her for 6 hours then took her home and made sure she was ok till the morning but made her call her son when we got her home. The next day I went over there (I forgot to tell you her house is trashed like a bag ladies--one of those hoarder's houses you would see on t.v.) and her daughter in law was there and I assumed her son would be too so I lit into them and said that I was just amazed that they could let her live like that ....now I am public enemy #1 for her son and daughter in law and now she is ticked off at me too. Your thoughts?

I accepted a job thru a staffing firm and I was to start last Friday. The job was for an accounting position. The whole day I was stuck answering the phones and had nothing to do. My boss decides to hire and then leaves to go on vacation for 2 weeks. I wasn't sure why I was hired if she was going to leave. I think it was the staffing company wanting to take me out of the job market so I wouldn't look for another job. She indicated in our interview that she wanted to rearrange the office and totally train my position. I was ok, but I had no idea she was leaving for two weeks.
So of course I go in to day and ask can I assist anyone and all said no, and basically I was stuck answering the phone again. I made up an excuse and left early because I REFUSED to sit there and look at the wall.
They called the staffing firm and basically said they did not want me back.
I don't get these staffing companies? Why do they do this crap? Wasted my time.
