1. His nationality. Moses was an Israelite (Ex. 2:1, 2). So, according to the flesh, was Christ.

2. His Birth. This occurred when his nation was under the dominion of a hostile power, when they were groaning under the rule of a Gentile king (Ex. 1). So the Jews were in bondage to the Romans when Christ was born (Matthew 2:1 cf. Luke 24: 21).

3. His Person. "In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair to God" (Acts 7:20). How blessedly did he, in this, foreshadow the Beloved of the Father! His estimate of the "fairness" of that Child which lay in Bethlehem’s manger, was evidenced by the sending of the angels to say unto the shepherds, "Unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2:11).

4. His Infancy. In infancy his life was endangered, imperiled by the reigning king, for Pharaoh had given orders that, "Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river" (Ex. 1:22). How this reminds us of Matthew 2:16: "Then Herod . . . sent forth and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof"!

5. His Adoption. Though, previously, he was the child of another, he yet was made the son of Pharaoh’s daughter: "And became her son" (Ex. 2:10). Thus he had a mother, but no father! What anointed eye can fail to see prefigured here the mystery of the Virgin-birth! Christ was the Son of Another, even the Son of God. But, born into this world, He had a mother, but no human father. Yet was He, as it were, adopted by Joseph: see Matthew 1:19-21.

6. His Childhood. This was spent in Egypt. So also was Christ’s: "Behold the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Arise, and take the young Child and His mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word" (Matthew 2:13). Thus was fulfilled God’s ancient oracle, "And called My Son out of Egypt" (Hosea 11:1).

Yes Jesus was just reestablishing what had been lost. All pure saints have very similar qualities though with different flavors. Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita "Whenever their is a decline in religious principles and the Truth appears to be lost, I appear again and again or send My representative to reestablish the Truth." So God continues sending His pure representatives because man keeps changing the original message. For the original New testament before King Constantine added and omitted and mistranslated so many things google gospelofthenazirenes.com Jesus was originally an Essene (an ancient Jewish sect) The Essens are the original followers of Jesus and they have the original teachings of Jesus (Gospel of the Nazirenes)

Well-they both went into the mountains for 40 days and nights and neither ate nor drank-seeking God.

And they both rescued the people and gave them a new life. Moses took the people from out of Egypt and Jesus brought us out of sin and eternal damnation to a new everlasting life.

Everything Moses did was a shadow of what Jesus was going to do. The story of the Exodus and Moses taking the people out of Egypt is an example of us being saved by Jesus. Moses took the people out of a land where they were inslaved. Jesus took us out of slavery to sin and Satan.

They were both Prophets. They both spoke the Word of God. They were both Manifestations of the eternal Logos, the everlasting Christ. Jesus was the spiritual Return of Moses.

You'll actually find a lot more in common between Muhammad and Moses. Muhammad is the Prophet "like unto" Moses mentioned in Deuteronomy.

Don't know what you mean about "priest."

They were both Jews.

They both lost it once or twice: Moses killed this Egyptian guy who was beating a slave; Jesus whipped the money-changers out of the temple

They both gave influential moral laws: Moses the Ten Commandments; Jesus the Sermon on the Mount (etc.)

They both played a part in the salvation of their people--Moses led the Israelites out of their bondage in Egypt, and Christ saved us from our sins. Both used blood as a way of salvation also. Moses instructed the Israelites to spread lamb's blood over theri doors so the Death Angel would not take the firstborn sons, and Christ's blood (the Lamb of God) is what saves us from eteranl damnation.

Moses, through God, "gave" the Israelites manna to sustain them in the desert. Christ is the bread of life.

Moses struck the rock with his staff and got water for the Israelites in the desert. Christ (the solid Rock) provides us with living water.

Jesus spent 40 days in the desert

Moses received manna from heaven
Jesus is the living bread come down from heaven

Moses went through the water of the Red Sea
Jesus went through the water of the Jordan River

Moses experienced the Passover of God
Christ is the Passover of God

Moses sacrificed a lamb and painted the lintels of the doors with its blood to keep away the angel of death
Jesus is the lamb of God who redeems us by his blood to triumph over death and give us eternal life.

One thing was that at the time of both their births people were trying to kill them. Herod had an order out to kill all the first born male children in Bethlehem.
In Moses time the king of Egypt made an order that all the male children should be killed at birth.

After the Israelites made a golden calf and worshipped it instead of the one, true God, who had delivered them from slavery under Pharoah, Moses saved the Israelites by his personal faithfulness, obedience, and willingness to sacrifice his own existence in order to accomplish the will of God.

Jesus similarly saved mankind from eternal slavery to Satan, sin, and death, by his perfect and atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world ... in spite of the fact that his own people would not accept him as their Messiah.

God evidently thought there were parallels as well, because God said this to Moses:

Deu 18:18 I will raise them up a prophet out of the midst of their brethren like to thee: and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.
