Pls don't just say "yes, the Ark's a myth" or "Christians are all absurd, anyway". What I'd like to know is:

Has anyone here ever sat down with a "believer" (defined as you like), figured out rough volume of the Ark (300 cubits x 50 cubits x 30 cubits--cubit being abt 22 inches), & then brainstormed out how the Eternal might've made things work (or not work), just mostly for fun? AND HAD THE BELIEVER THEN START SERIOUSLY WONDERING IF THERE WERE GAPS IN THE BIBLE TEXT?? Pls share your experiences.

Seems that it'd be really tough (from a sheer physical perspective) to jam all those critters into that relatively limited space. I mean, even if you COULD get the lion & lamb to lie down together & both would rise up in the morning, all those 2by2s or 7s of "clean animals"---go to any decent zoo, & you've got a LOT of variety. Add in stretching space, load-bearing walls, manure aisles, feed & people space....

Pls keep bashing to minimum--just want your history. TY

No one's religion (or lack thereof) could be validly argued as ultimate truth, because if it were, then it would be universally agreed upon.

Is there such a thing as actual, undeniable, and unflappable truth?

I was recently offered a job in Waterloo, IA from a former co-worker. The position is in managment, with is a step-up for me and will raise my income from $40K to $55K. This move will put my wife and I about 6 hours from our families. She will now have to look for a new position as well in the Waterloo area. We now have to sell our house and find a new one. We are also expecting our first baby in November. With all the things that need to be done, is taking this position worth it?

obviously no "sane" person would commit a murder. so why are you allowed to plead insanity to a crime? if you get convicted and you plead insanity all you have to do is go to an institution until you are "cured" how do you know when a person is cured from insanity? how can you insure they will not kill again. i think it is ridiculous people are allowed to plead this way and basically get away with murder. no matter what your state of mind it doesn't change the fact you took a life. that would be like being allowed to kill someone because you are drunk or under the influence of drugs. both of those are mind altering. i would like to know your opinion. for or against? and why? thank you

nothing rude please.

People keep buying more fuel inefficient vehicles. I have neighbors with driveways full of SUVs and trucks. Even their teenagers drive to school in big gas guzzlers.

Over the holiday weekend, I saw a lot of people driving 80-90 mph. There are very few vehicles that get good mileage at these speeds.

The quality of the gasoline is about the same regardless of brand. Many people will not cross the street to save five cents per gallon. Why should the dealers lower prices??

This is a free country and people can do as they please. But if you are not part of the solutiuon, maybe you are the problem.

when a person under the age of 21 can join the Army and kill but cannot buy beer in any store at home.
when is one of the countries with more laws and regulation that tells what people got to do,how to do it and when to do it , than any other one .(this laws being made by an elite of rich people who ussually control business and corporations that terrorize not only their own country ) but other part of the world too). (see bush and oil ,see chaney and hallebert, see generals and admirals and military companies like rigtehon and others )
When high education got to be paid by the people instead of being subsidise by the goverment
When health care so expensive that almost nobody can afford it .
dont'you think instead of spend trillions of dollars in wars ,will be better to spend it in there own people at home??

I can keep going on and on but you get the point !!!

This is on a 6' high fince that runs about 75' on a downward slope. My contractor did this and just put L brackets on the side. He says it will last - but we're in an area of high winds and I'm concerned as it already has some give. Not sure how to remedy it since he's basically done. any suggestions?

"When we hear the ancient bells growling on a Sunday morning we ask ourselves: Is it really possible! This, for a Jew, crucified two thousand years ago, who said he was God's son? The proof of such a claim is lacking. Certainly the Christian religion is an antiquity projected into our times from remote prehistory; and the fact that the claim is believed - whereas one is otherwise so strict in examining pretensions - is perhaps the most ancient piece of this heritage. A god who begets children with a mortal woman; a sage who bids men work no more, have no more courts, but look for the signs of the impending end of the world; a justice that accepts the innocent as a vicarious sacrifice; someone who orders his disciples to drink his blood; prayers for miraculous interventions; sins perpetrated against a god, atoned for by a god; fear of a beyond to which death is the portal; the form of the cross as a symbol in a time that no longer knows the function and ignominy of the cross --
