I have a '95 Honda Civic VX, D15Z1 VTEC-E engine, 174,000 miles. It runs roughly, acceleration and mileage are poor. A timing light shows that when I snap open the throttle, the timing briefly *retards* about 10-15 degrees, then returns to initial (16 deg BTC) as RPM stabilizes.

Testing on another Honda (same year, diff. model) showed the expected advance. Mine retards.

The timing also does not advance as RPM increases gradually. I see slight variation, 1-2 deg, as I slowly increase RPM, but it always stays around the initial setting. Behavior is same in neutral or top gear (front wheels off ground).

MAP and throttle position sensors test 100% normal. TDC, crank angle, and CYP sensors (in distributor) pass resistance tests. Distributor is original but ignitor and coil have been replaced recently. A different ECU did not solve the problem. This engine does not have a knock sensor.

What could cause "backwards timing" that I haven't checked?

my marine tank has been cycling for about 3 weeks now and the readings are as follows PH = 8.0, KH =10.5, nitrite = 0.07, nitrate =12, ammo = 0.05, i know the level of ammonia and nitrite are still unsafe for fish but would a clean up crew survive (just a few turbo snails and hermit crabs) i relise its 2 early for stars the now any help welcome, thnx

Some childhood nostalgia here..

When I was young - I'd estimate around 7 or 8 (and I'm 18 now) I was watching Power Rangers and there was a monster. As far as I recall it was during the Might Morphin era and the villian was in a two part episode.

Anyway, it was a massive monster that wouldn't die and eventually one of the Rangers went into its stomach and there was a mushroom-like creature inside who he proceeded to kill.

So, my question: who was the monster? Or have I just completely dreamt up a childhood experience? lol

I want to do my own birth announcement, but would like to do spot color. Im wondering what a good program for me to use would be. Mind you i will probably not be using it much, so something free or inexpensive. Also preferably compadable with windows visa, if not thats okay, i have another xp computer downstairs. Im stuck babysitting my little sister and brother for the week, well just until Thursday, while my parents are out of town attending the funeral of one of my dads military buddies. Today they didnt have school cuz of the holiday so I let Shanna, my sister, go to a friends house 2 streets over while Nathan, my brother, and I played street hockey all day with some of his friends. Now her friends parents both work and they were alone most of the day. Apparently they got into the parents liquor cabinet and now Shanna is passed out on the couch. She didnt lie to me, she came right out and told me she "thinks she's drunk and gonna throw up" when I asked her what was wrong with her. She then laid on the couch and fell asleep. I cant get a hold of my parents but I do plan to let the friends parents know what happened. My question is, being that she's 14 and Im not my mom or my father, and cant get ahold of them, when she wakes up how should I handle this? Should I let it go? or what?

I'm not trying to critical, rather I'm curious. I'm 5'10" which means I'm not tall, but not short either. I have been reading the single ads and notice more and more women seeking only tall men to date. Usually 6'2" on up. Used to be 6' was tall, but the bar seems to have been raised. Anyhow, ladies, what is the reasoning behind only wanting a tall guy to date? List them all if you don't mind.

I asked a life long girlfriend this same question as she is into tall men too, her response was candid and she was trying to be truthful. She said it's hit and miss with an average guy having a big piece of equipment, but usually with a tall guy, you are guaranteed he is big down there. Her honest response. Is this really part of the reason?
