Im stuck babysitting my little sister and brother for the week, well just until Thursday, while my parents are out of town attending the funeral of one of my dads military buddies. Today they didnt have school cuz of the holiday so I let Shanna, my sister, go to a friends house 2 streets over while Nathan, my brother, and I played street hockey all day with some of his friends. Now her friends parents both work and they were alone most of the day. Apparently they got into the parents liquor cabinet and now Shanna is passed out on the couch. She didnt lie to me, she came right out and told me she "thinks she's drunk and gonna throw up" when I asked her what was wrong with her. She then laid on the couch and fell asleep. I cant get a hold of my parents but I do plan to let the friends parents know what happened. My question is, being that she's 14 and Im not my mom or my father, and cant get ahold of them, when she wakes up how should I handle this? Should I let it go? or what?

alright, you need to just calm down and dont over react. make sure ur sister doesnt fall asleep on her back because if she pukes then she could choak on her puke. but anyways, if i were you, i would just not tell anyone. your sister is 14, its about time that she experimented and tried new stuff. be happy she didnt try drinking for the first time at a huge party becuase now she is going to learn how much she can handle without passing out, becuase i think if a teen tries drinking for the first time at a party, then they wont know when to stop and if they have to much they could get to messed up and then get raped by some guy. And just be your sisters buddy, it works out nicely and makes things calmer around the house if you got some one that you can trust and if you get messed up you have some one to lean back on for help. Just make sure she doesnt get out of control. but other then that just relax and concentrate on having fun.

stay by herside and watch her. Depending on how drunk she is she might (i know this is really nasty, sorry) choke on her own puke if she's passed out. Try an get her sitting atleast so she' not on her back. When she wakes up tell her to lay down and chill (she'll probably have a really bad hangover) If you feel like its the right thing to do go ahead and tell her parents but you run the risk of being called a rat and a snitch and a tatletale you might even lose them as friends. Do what you think is right though and i'm sorry your in this position.
P.S. I'm not trying to talk u out of telling the parents, i'm just warning u about what might happen

I've had experience with this only i was in Shanna's position. you need to turn her over on her side because she can suffocate on her own vomit, if she starts turning blue or her breathing slows down call 911! there's a very real possibility she could have alcohol poisoning, when she wakes up give her lots and lots of water, and make her eat, it'll soak up the alcohol. you need to tell someone do not let it go.
when she wakes up you need to tell her about drinking, pretty much go over everything shes learned in her health classes considering shes 14.
EDIT** make her eat! it will soak up the alcohol shes probably puke it up anyways but itll make the hangover shorter...dont just do it if she feels like it, fried food is the best, not toast and jam.

No. Please tell your & her friend's parents. She is being irresponsible. It is not your job to lecture or punish, but you are concerned about her. Tell her you are going to tell your parents.
First it is alcohol, then later it could be stuff that is even worse. She is only 14. She could screw her entire life up by starting that stuff.
Put a big pot or a trash can by her head so if she needs to throw up she can.
Hopefully, she'll sleep it off and feel like crap later. If not and she doesn't look good call 911.
Hangovers are from dehydration, she'll need water, asprin, and maybe some toast with jam if she feels like eating later.
Thank you for being a responsible and obviously caring older sibling.

Be thankful you are not the parents. Try to keep her under close supervision and wait until your parents get home before you say anything.

You should let her know exactly what it is that she did wrong. Explain the dangers of drinking. Let her know that it can kill. Take away the privliege to go places and just keep her level of fun low.

be careful and keep her under a very close eye, she could have drank enough to get alcohol poisoning and need to get her stomach pumped.
