I am a democrat and am not thrilled about the war to say the least, but the Democrats who keep coming on here saying the Congress "sold out" because they funded the troops need to take a lesson in how the government works. The only way that we could end the war immediately would be to cut off funds for the troops, which would be a reprehensible act, as they are over in Iraq dodging bullets to protect us. I want a change of course as much as the next person, but the people who say we should cut off funds and leave immediately need to look at reality. The only way we will ever be able to pull out of Iraq is gradually, or we will be responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent people. I am all for leaving Iraq, but not if we cause a humanitarian disaster.

Why did god create the laws of sin?
Example

he must of created AIDS ,HIV ,Cancer and all the horrible diseases. don't say man created it by sining , someone must of created those things . they don't magically appear cause man did something stupid like eat an apple of a tree

so god must of created the whole package of sin, so when man sins he opens that package and he gets all the diseases and all the suffering in the world


after watching people suffer ,i can NOT worship a god who created these things

I have given you multiple examples of those who claim to be Christian but obviously are not. Are you afraid to stand up against the world and rebuke these people in the name of Christ Jesus? Jesus says that if we deny him on earth, he will deny us in Heaven. Maybe you should all start thinking about that.

there are many questions about this subject but none really answer my question.
I've decided to embark on a journey with enlightenment as my end result. however i dont know where to start. some say meditation is the key, others say religion is vital. still others say you dont need all of that for its inside you to begin with.
so, i'm very puzzled and confused now.
i know its quite impossible for you to tell me exactly how to become enlightened and i know its a kinda dumb question to ask but....
I need somewhere to start.
could someone please give me a general idea of what enlightenment really is, how i know once i've found it, how you may have become enlightened....and stuff like that...
