Administrative wage garnishment is a very specific process which cannot be effected if the individual receives a paycheck executed out of the U.S. Treasury. It is very different than a garnishment following a judgement in a court procedure. Administrative garnishment does not require a court procedure at all. I am looking for an answer from someone who either is and employee of the district of columbia or who has good knowledge of the process.

The district of Columbia is funded in a budget set by congress and from taxes (sales and other) set in the district. Workers in the district are not exempt from garnishment.

Well, I work for the federal government and my checks are cut by the Department of Interior. We are not exempt from wage garnishment.

No, because not all government employees are federal employees.
