Though I haven't visited there yet I've met those who have. From the U.S. most flights connect either at Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) or London's Gatwick (LGW) for the trip to Montpellier, France (MPL). From there it is about a 50 mile trip to the quarter naturiste section of Cap d' Agde.

The nudist quarter is a large area differentiated by distinct condominium/flat names: Port Ambonne, Port Nature, Port Soleil, Heliopolis. Within those complexes are little shopping centers and restaurants unique to the specific housing community. It is a stretch to call it a nudist metropolis but certainly it is a thriving nudist town of 30,000 on the shores of the Mediterranean.

Cap d' Agde by day (we've heard) is somewhat different than Cap d' Agde by night. During the day it is very family friendly, particularly near the main housing areas and the immediate beach. Reportedly, the racy reputation at the Cap was earned by a stretch of beach below the dunes and past the camp grounds where the goings on were definitely in the adult category. From the people we spoke with this is also something that went on in the past and not a part of the Cap today. Late in the evening Cap d' Agde also takes an adult turn with nightclubs, shows and other forms of entertainment not seen at Disney theme parks.

And finally, depending who you speak with, Cap d' Agde is either the best nudist vacation one could book or a big disappointment with condominiums without air conditioning in need of repair, restaurants that let down the French reputation for fine food and a general tackiness that permeates the quarter naturiste.
