What is the current custody arrangement? If he has full custody, and you don't have any sort of visitation, then a family member of his choosing will probably be given temporary custody of your son while the father is activated.

If you have joint custody or visitation, then you have a pretty decent chance of being given temporary full custody of your son while the father serves.

Well if he is in Iraq he won't be able to care for your son so I imagine you or someone else will have custody.

Does the Father right now have full custody of your child? If so it would probably would hinge on why he does. Ask a lawyer if you could.
