I am American and I am engaged to an Indian. He lives in India and has been denied visas to come here so far. So, I have decided to try to go there next year. Everything has been great between us so far, but in my last visit, I found some things to be very hard....cultural differences...and I am also realizing he doesn't understand me as much as I thought he did (language barrier)...so it's causing some problems. I want to try to work them out. I can read and write Hindi and I'm going to take a grammar class starting September. I could REALLY REALLY use some other input - some advice from other Americans married to Indians or some Indian ladies who can help me understand the men there a bit more...some support group...some tips on cross-cultural marriage (any good books?) - anything would be helpful. I believe he's getting a little tired of how hard it is for him to understand English and I really want to meet him half way - any thoughts?? :) Thanks!!

How's the word 'enlightenment' relate to you?
If you have a religion, what is your teaching for getting 'enlightenment'? If you don't have a religion, what do you think the way to get enlighten?

In biology, evolution is the process by which populations of organisms acquire and pass on novel traits from generation to generation. Its occurrence over large stretches of time explains the origin of new species and ultimately the vast diversity of the biological world. Contemporary species are related to each other through common descent, products of evolution and speciation over billions of years.

The basic timeline is a 4600 million year old Earth, with approximately:

4000 million years of simple cells (also known as single-celled organisms),
3000 million years of photosynthesis,
2000 million years of complex cells,
1000 million years of multicellular life,
600 million years of simple animals,
570 million years of arthropods
550 million years of complex animals
500 million years of fish and proto-amphibians,
475 million years of land plants,
400 million years of insects and seeds,
360 million years of amphibians,
300 million years of reptiles,

A coworker's father died in January and is responsible for his remaining debt. Before creditors are willing to work with her, she needs a death certificate.
She contacted the funeral home (Tennessee) in February who stated that they had failed to file the paperwork. She continued to contact them throughout the months and they give responses like "We will call you once the certificate is filed" without taking a number or getting back to her and "We are trying".
It has been several months since his passing. Who should she contact?

With all of this talk about Barry Bonds, and disregarding whether he may or may not have taken steriods which he never got caught doing if he in fact ever took them, don't you think that there should be a penalty for an intentional walk, such as the batter's team would get an automatic run? I have never liked intentional walks and would love for them to be banned or made illegal like the spitball. I say "Pitch to everybody and if they hit a home run, so be it!"

The more we fight in Iraq the more entangled we become. The Bush Administration has painted us into a corner where there are no good options. This is insanity. No amount of oil is worth all the blood that has been spilled over there. Even Br'er Rabbit was smarter than that.

accepting God of the New Testament (in the form of Jesus). I'm not speaking of Paul or anyone else. Just the words of Jesus, he is the "word made flesh", after all. I don't recall Jesus condemning sinners to hell, more like "forgive them Lord for they know not what they do". It's disappointing to see Christians today act more like the Pharisees than Christ. I know it isn't all of us, but the ones on TV are giving us a bad name. Does anyone see what I see?

Just recently, my daughter introduced me to a african fellow by the name of... I forgot his name.

He is profficient in his use of slang, and frankly, doesn't seem to fit in with my family's comparsoie. He doesn't appear to have redeeming qualities either.

My daughter is 17. How shall I interfere and rid my daughter of this menace?
