In biology, evolution is the process by which populations of organisms acquire and pass on novel traits from generation to generation. Its occurrence over large stretches of time explains the origin of new species and ultimately the vast diversity of the biological world. Contemporary species are related to each other through common descent, products of evolution and speciation over billions of years.

The basic timeline is a 4600 million year old Earth, with approximately:

4000 million years of simple cells (also known as single-celled organisms),
3000 million years of photosynthesis,
2000 million years of complex cells,
1000 million years of multicellular life,
600 million years of simple animals,
570 million years of arthropods
550 million years of complex animals
500 million years of fish and proto-amphibians,
475 million years of land plants,
400 million years of insects and seeds,
360 million years of amphibians,
300 million years of reptiles,

What methods of denial and ignorance will you apply in an effort to falsify this information..??

Go Patrick and Matt A, you get the golden star for being both in denial, AND ignorant.

The Mt St Helens issue is an old and easily countered christian position, as are the dinosaur and human footprints in the same strata, etc..

Dating techniques are many and varied, yet ALL tell the same story, so even IF they were flawed, why do they all concurr..?

What evidence do 'I" have?
This is not MY evidence, however there is overwhelming scientififc evidence, and it is freely accessable to any who would like to see it, or challenge it..

You'll have to do much better than that..!

Easy Writer, my source is modern mainstream scientific concepts and principles, and I stand by it..!

Another clue for you should be that all the many and independant fields of science also concurr, and make an interweaving, self checking overview of the natural world..
How can this be so easily ignored by you and your ilk..??

Works for me. This mostly agrees with the standard calendar. Photosynthesis is a bit off; the photosynthetic conversion to oxygen atmosphere happened about 2.4 billion years ago.

You have to admire the self-control of these loonies who reckon that all radioisoptope dating systems are so flawed they can't distinguish between billions and thousands.

I mean, if these people were able to defend their statements and prove that these systems don't work, imagine the fame and fortune that would await them!

Strangely, they keep this information for informal places like this. Either they're very noble, or they don't have a clue about radio dating, and just swallow the bilge they get from answersingenesis.com

Um, cite your source?

Really. Ask yourself. Is it any less ridiculous to believe this nonsense than it is to believe in a God who is never going to bend to your demand that He show Himself one more time because your blindass can't believe the FACTUAL history and timeline since His last appearance on this rock?

The people who don't believe this are thepeople who are too lazy and/or uneducated and/or self righteous to do the hard research. The underlying principle of science is not to take anyone's word for it. Research papers and other discoveries are made public so people can pick them apart and judge the truth of them themselves. That's what seperates scientific facts from religious gobledy-****.

Dating techniques are flawed. I looked into it. There are faults in all dating techniques, and examples that show their questionable reliability. Newly formed rock from mt. St. Hellens was dated to millions of years. Using nuclear dating techniques. It doesnt date the rock, but the atoms that are trapped inside the rock. If these atoms exist in the rock, then the rock is dated to a certain date. If you take a false timetable, and match things up to it, then you can make whatever you want. You can believe it, but I dont have too. Get over it.

What evidence do you have that the Earth is that old? A man claimed that he made a disovery on how to date rocks and he told a man who told a man who told a man who put it into a book so that another man could tell you that the Earth is 4.6 billion years old. You believe it and you weren't there 4.6 billion years ago. I believe that God created the Earth a mere couple thousands of years ago, but I wasn't there for it. Sounds to me like Religion and Science aren't too different.

Because my preacher said that jesus said it wasn't true.... Just kidding lol! It's absolutely correct and there isn't a damn thing wrong with that timeline. I can dig in any area and find proof of evolution having took place.

The Bible says that all happened in less then 10 thousand years. So everyone who believes the bible must not believe in the time line. They are not too smart.

No evidence of intermediate or transitory forms from one species into another... which is why it is still a theory.
