I'm just being an eager beaver here and I forgot to ask my case worker what the amount of cash assistance is. I live in Michigan, so I know it will be different than other states, but can't be too far off.
I applied and know the requirements to be accepted for cash assistance here. I qualify because I will be out of work for more than 90 days (over a year) and have the documentation from 2 different docs. I heard the amount is over $200, but I don't know, only over heard that somewhere. Does anybody know? I am not asking how to qualify because I know that, but just the amounts people get paid.

I have a large, white, round table on a central, pedestal base. The base has become unstable, and the table top is therefore unsteady.

I don't want to put legs on it, as it is aesthetically pleasing now -any repair suggestions for the base? I would so love to restore my beautiful white table to full use as currently the top must be propped up on one side!

Thanking you in advance for your help.

My 9 yr old son wants to write a book/comic/short story of some kind and attempt to have it published. I know I'm his Mom, but as an avid reader, I really think he may have what it takes. His teacher says he's definitely her best reading/writing student. So here's my question: How do we begin this process? I'm an avid book lover but am clueless as to where to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much

Then they have a small disclaimer stating, 'Professional driver, do attempt yourself'.
Why don't beer commercials glamorize drunk driving and post the same disclaimer?

Now that so much wealth is in the hands of a tiny elite who control the American media and control the political system. A large proportion of the people are in badly paid jobs with little or no security in their lives. Is it now time for the workers to take control of industry and the plitical system and to redistribute wealth. It is the workers who built the economy, it is the workers who should reap the benefits, not some overpaid corporate board members. It is time for the USA to become the Socialist States of America, power to the people

Me & my 7yr. son are going 2 New Jersey in Dec, from about the 14th to around Jan. 4th, 2008. We have never been there before & as it will be cold, we want to stay in a city area that have a lot of large malls 2 browse about in, & large shopping centers. Any serious answers will be greatly appreciated.

Once we have the name of a good area we plan 2 go online & check it out & search for a good room 2 rent there but we would also appreciate any hotels or rooms that are recommended. We dont mind paying up to $100 a day & the room must have a private bath.
Thanks!! Most thorough answer gets "best answer".

I've seen variations of that idea here, and this bit at atheism.about.com just reminded me of it.

http://atheism.about.com/od/atheismmyths/p/RebellionPride.htm

Atheists, are you rebelling against something? Non-atheists, do you believe this?

Also, would this apply for atheists who are second (or third or fourth) generation and atheists who grew up in non-theistic environments like China?

she is a nice person but is v. dependent on me, if i cant cometo a lecture she doesnt go either, she always wants me to drop her at her college after class, wants me to meet with her to study but really is so that she can talk about how horrible her life is, how she is so stressed ( we both do the same course, i work on top of that, she doesnt),and about a situation with some friend of hers that i dont even know, she wont actually disclose, the situation but complains about, so basically she doenst trust me enogh to tell me what it is but does use my time to complain aboit it, moreover, ironically she thinks i talk too much and that that is why we dont get much study done!!!!, the teachers dread her, always asks the same irrelevant questions..several times, Today, in class she asks if she can drink some of my water, i hand her my trusty water bottle and just as she was about to drink turns and says "oh wait but, its clean right?, do you think she is anoying?what should i do, tell her?
