This is something people are going to want to know! The best way to tell them is in private, other than that, simply let them know.

Before you do, however, you really should have a proper physical test to make sure that what you are experiencing is herpes and not something else.

Best of luck!

Well, if this person gave you Herpes, there are two possibilities: 1) They knew they had it already and didn't tell you OR 2) They don't know they have it, and you will be the one breaking it to them. The third possibility is that you had it before the two of you were together. So, I would approach the situation carefully and try not to make it sound like an accusation. It may blow up in your face otherwise.

The real questions are: Do you care about this person? Do you trust this person? The answers to these questions should help you decide how to handle the situation.

I listed some websites below that send anonymous e-cards notifying someone they should get tested and also explaining more about Herpes.

Things that are certain: You need to confront the person. And you will need to tell your potential partners in the future.

Good luck!

First of all just be honest with them. Second I wish everyone that had a smart assed answer to this question would zip it! Condoms do not protect against herpes, as any doctor or nurse will tell you. So even if you practice "safe sex" you're not safe from this disease. Good luck and if you need to talk let me know, I'm a great listener and have learned a great deal about herpes in the last year.

There's isn't really much else to say other then "I think you gave me herpes" to be honest!

I know it sounds awful thinking about saying that to somebody but you've gotta do it and there's no point beating around the bush.

You could make it a fun day out too. Take him/her to a local basketball game and get them to put the message on the big screen at half-time for instance.

Wow! That's a good question! Probably the best way is to meet them in a quiet place and say something like-
You remember that moment (insert how recently it was)? You may want to get tested because I seem to have contracted herpes and you could be infected. (That way it isn't blaming them and maybe with this approach the person will seek treatment.) I wish you the best. BTW, seek treatment for yourself, whether the other person does or not.

You say "I think you gave me herpes" You do realize that there is no cure for herpes and you'll have it forever?

Better tell everyone you slept with

You need to sit down and have a talk with them. First, ask them to go and get tested. They may not come back positive, but if they do, you can discuss the results.
Just be honest with them.
How are you doing? Get your mind together before you confront someone else. Remember that everything will be okay. Take care of yourself both physically and mentally. And remember, it is not the end of the world.

Ask them if they have herpes. If they say no, insist on a test. If they refuse, tell everyone you know that person has herpes.

Well for one get tested to make sure that's what you have. Then if in fact you do and are sure about who gave it to you just be honoest. Remember that honoesty is the best policy. You should also tell them that the next time they are intimate with someone that they let them know beforehand.

Ask them if they have herpes. Then tell them you have herpes. Then tell them why it is that you are sure you could not have given it to them.
